Good. I hate these thugs who think they are so tough just because he had a gun in his hand. I'm sure he would have never went up to him without a gun.
I'm glad the sk8ter didnt get hurt and the fact he beat the shit out of that thug. His buddies should have just let him continue to swing at him unit he blacked out but looked like authorities started to come in...
did u see him get up? he was dazed. hahahahaha. GOOD! :)

are there any Law Enforcement Officers or martial arts expert here that can chime in on what's an appropriate response to someone pulling a gun on you like that?
I'm not talking about "Stay calm, find an adult or parent"...

i'd think the appropriate step is to calm the person that is pointing the gun at me, negotiate calmly and don't use words like 'relax, calm down'
As soon as they have their guards down, either run/leave and call law enforcement (best option) or kick their ass then call law enforcement.

I don't mean appropriate in the "love thy neighbour" or "turn the other cheek" sense...
let me ask again...what would Chuck Norris do? :chuckle

i hate fighting lol
if it was me, i'd control the shooter's arm first with the firearm, point it out and move/stay in as close as possible to knock his face out. If possible try to gain upper ground, break his knee joints then when he is down knock the crap out of his face till he passes out. Once you get the face you have the huge advantage, the person will either protect it with its arms (then tehy can't hit you) or they'll be all dizzy and don't know whats going on.
Anyways thats what my ex-cop teacher taught me

There are many techniques i've learned but for different scenarios. If he wants your wallet, simply keep your hands up and tell him to get the wallet himself and you're not moving. Once he moves in his focus wont be on the gun but getting the wallet and that's your time to disarm. Martial arts isn't only a physical thing but a bit of mind manipulation as well.
Ex. I keep kicking you in the leg and once you think you've figured out the pattern i switch it up and kick high to your head.

I think the skater first played it down, which I think is ballsy and might've escalated that punk's anger.
Then as they struggled, he made an attempt to point the pistol at the punk while the gun was still in the punk's hand...and I think once he cleared the angle of the gun pointing at himself, the skater then proceeded to throw the first punch.
I remember seeing a MI6 technique where they basically use a distraction to quickly disarm the punk and reverse-point the gun back at them...
I'd just fart :blush
to be honest, I might do the same...but if I got the guy on the ground or get a hold of his gun, he's not standing back up.

I'd say the victim lucked out in this case. In any scenario it's not wise to get brave with a person aiming a gun at you - unless you're ready to die.
This wouldn't have been a video anyone heard of if the kid on the skateboard tackled the dude holding the gun and one of that guys buddy showed up with a shotgun and blasted the kid in half and all his other friends before they could get away.
It happens alot more than we hear about .. since that's not really exciting as seeing the thug getting the shit kicked out of him.
The fact that the skater had a crew with him helped in his favour, but getting brave as you stare down the barrel of a gun is probably the last thing on your mind. I've had a gun pointed at me, and it's not exactly the best time to start thinking about being a hero.
I'm glad the thug got his ass handed to him. ****ed his shit up real nice. He had it coming though.

+1 this never worked on my gf or past gfs either... lol
The guy with the gun isn't too bright, walking up so close to the victim.

he thought he was all tough and stuff when he was pushing the guy around..but i guess he didn't notice that the rest of his friends were amongst the crowd. Kudos the the kid for fighting his way to safety but seriously this guys is effed in his head.:loco He needs some serious rehab or something

First off I think its hilarious that his friends were 50 feet away not helping in case their friend got shot, but as soon as the gun wasn't in play they came in for the gang beat down.....nice friends
Secondly, there is no MMA practitioner/fighter that could say "oh I'd do this, i'd do that in that situation involving him dissarming the thug".....MMA origins are derived from boxing/wrestling.....too many people think its all about Seagal movies when someone's coming at you with a knife or gun. If some thug came up to Anderson Silva on the street and pointed a gun to his face, rest assured he's giving up his wallet or Dana white is sending his family some flowers and a copy of 2009 Undisputed.
That skater while brave could have easily taken one in the gut and that video would be evidence.....it didn't even look like the thug knew how to use the gun, he was holding it weird. Do you really want to try some "move" you learned from watching tv or even if you've had a course on defending yourself.....MMA fighters train for hours each day all year and one mistake and they're on their ass KO'd........one mistake against a thug with a knife or gun and its bye bye.......
Final statement: Thug was an idiot, got what he deserved, skater was VERY lucky, brave.....his friends are stupid......
PS. If you notice during the fight the skater had the thug in a half sloppy open guard and attempted an arm bar lol....must have learned that from Gracie himself ;)

QFT. as stupid as this may sound this is the easiest way to take down a man quickly. he will be looking at ur face and wont be able to see the quick leg movment.
im a second dan black belt in ta-kwon-do and in this case i would be able to disarm the guy in this situation quickly. the shooters biggest mistake was getting into the skaters face. if he had any idea how to use a gun he would have stayed 5 feet from the skater.
luckly the skater read the shooters mistake and took advatnage and mangage to get the guy down to the ground and beat the living hell out of him.
like junior said when a gun pointed to ur face the last thing on ur mind is getting brave. however u need to kepp to ur senses and always think of what to do, wether it be talk the situation or take aim and time a attack

on the drive home, I was thinking...
first, that thug obviously is a bug *****...he pulled a gun but did nothing. And when it did go down, he didn't put up much of a fight...
The other side of the story COULD be that the fat kid gets bullied by the cool skaters...pulls out his cuz's pistol to show some guys he's not a *****, but gets it handed to him anyway...
That fat kids definitely got some issues...
LOL @ open arm bar...when he mounted the kid and wailed on him, it turned into some backyard wrestling match...
Also...yeah, the kid didn't know how to use the gun and literally put it beside his own face to be more intimidating...and the skater read him thru, and basically either knew it was an Air Soft or that he didn't have it to pull the trigger...

reminds me of this story...
at my friends daughter's class before black belt graduation the master gives the kids a scenario (kids are all around 13 yrs old):
-you are alone walking on the street and a BIG 18 year old guy (remember at that age 5 years make a huge difference) with a knife approaches you. What do you do?
The kids started naming techniques they could use (I'd do this and I'd do that)....to which the master says:
-No, if you see a guy who's bigger than you AND armed with a knife, no matter what kicks or tricks you know - you RUN and scream!
so yeah, times like if you actually care about staying alive there's no need for heroics. although the smacking was well deserved

if you put yourself in that scenario 100 times this was the one time that you don't have a bullet hole through your body.
everyone is fortunate to be alive and its a perfect example of how stupid guns are

Im surprised the friends acted they way they did. They all had skateboards and didnt do jack shit. If my friend got confronted with a gun and the gun was out of the shooter's hand, my board would of been in a million pieces already over the shooter's head.

I think he would have learned his lesson with 5 good wet willy's or nurples.....no need for the skateboard beatdown. Actually the forced Gang Willy's and Nurples would probably hurt his ego more than having wheel marks on his neck.

Actually I think his friend's did a great job. If a guy pulls out a gun, your friends are not going to rush him. Someone will get shot. The skater tried to diffuse the situation by walking away. His friends stayed at a relatively close distance. Once the gun was out of the way, they did a great job jumping in. They even took out the guy on the bicycle ('thug's' friend).
When it comes down to it, the thug wasn't prepared to use the gun.

I would be happy to volunteer for the job as long as it was legal and my ammo costs were taken care of.
