I'm about to purchase a 2008 CX-9 in Canada that was imported from USA... However, I'm trying to get a clear and up to date answer on wether or not the warranty will be valid in Canada.
Official answers from...
Mazda Canada: it's up to the dealer and Mazda US.
Mazda US: if it's registered else where in the US, it's not under warranty anymore.
My question is: has anybody owning a US vehicle in Canada been able to get some work done on their vehicle and Mazda USA to approuve it LATELY? Note that the keyword here is lately because it apparently changed in 2009...
Thanks!!

It is warrantied. Just get a letter of registration from Mazda Canada. And talk to another person there who actually knows what they are talking about. :pop

My ex's Mazda 5 is from the states and I've had a few warranty items done on it. I think the dealer has to contact Mazda Canada first before submitting any type of warranty claim. Karen can you confirm this?

I suggest you PM silvermist99 as his Mazdaspeed3 is a US car and he got warranty work on it done through Agincourt Mazda (c/o Karen Lee-McNair, who is also on this board with the same handle). Just pm either one and they will be able to answer your questions.

I think they're referring to a vehicle from Puerto Rico when they refer to anywhere else in U.S.
I claimed silvermist's warranty very quickly, but we do have to contact American Mazda as American vin's do not read on Canada's software.
I have not heard of anything changing in Canada in reference to US claims, but I can confirm this tomorrow when I'm back in the office
