High guys I just got the car today and noticed that my speedometer doesn’t work, it kind of dangles at the bottom, and sometimes doesn’t.
And it works properly for a few second sometimes.
I’m guessing that it’s the speed sensor on the transmission.

What do you guys think? I’m surprised that it’s like this, its and 2005 Mazda 3.
Has this happen to anyone? And how much did it cost to fix?

actually this seems like a bad sign!

if there's a problem with a connection of the spedo it's a good indication that the cluster had been pulled out and disconnected to change the mileage reading (im not necessarily saying that it was rolled, but there are not too many reasons to pull out the cluster).

hope i'm wrong tho...

^^^that's what I was thinking...

however, I have seen my friend's MS3's cluster just stopped working after a hard launch, but for some reason, everything corrected itself after a restart.

Good luck!

Is it me or does it seem that a lot of the members who bought used Mazda3's are having tons of problems ?

I hope everything works out for you dude.

Thanks, I just made a mistake by not letting the dealer do emission and safety for me, and now im left with all these things that I have to deal with to make it run properly.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to test drive the car since the dealer wouldn’t allow. They were way too busy to let every customer test drive.

Bwwuuaaahh omfg lol haha a dealer too busy to let you test drive? They got you good..

That has got to be the dumbest thing ever.. If a dealer wont allow you a drive, you WALK AWAY faster than you walked in!

Hopefully its something simple, GL..

WTF you buy a car without driving it. Did you buy it as is, uncertified etc? Was it a new car dealer selling used or was it from a corner used car dealer? what did you pay for it?:bang

for that price sounds like some hidden problems? does it really have 100KM maybe the speedo was turned back?
