Ok, I did a search and I am not sure if the sqeeling problem other people have mentioned is the same as mine. The brakes work fine in terms of performance but when I am at a full stop and very slowly release the brakes, it squeels pretty bad. It sounds and feels like the pad and rotor are rubbing against each other and not moving against each other smoothly. I have just installed ceramic pads but still have the OEM rotor in front. This only happens as I am almost at a complete stop and when starting to move or creep forward. This happens even when the brakes are all heated up after driving for a while. Any idea what it might be or how to fix it?

Give it a week and it will go away (or less)

could be the pads making the noise... the 3 is very picky about brake pads

Did you replace all four corners or just the fronts?

I replaced All 4 pads and the rear rotors. The front rotors are still OEM. The noise was there even before I replaced the pads with the ceramic ones. I have no idea what is causing it but it is quite irritating. If I hold the pedal at just the right spot I can get it to make the rubbing sound while the car is creeping forward. Only happens when almost at a dead stop and when releasing the brakes.

You should have someone stand outside the vehicle at each wheel to try to determine where exactly it's coming from...

I have a suspicion it might be something with the parking brake release mechanism...but just guessing at this point.

I have a very similar problem, it only happens when creeping forward or slowing down if I bother to use brakes in first...Both the pads and roaters are new from the dealership (picked it up on sat...) I'm having my buddy who's a mechanic look at it this week (hopefully tonight) so I'll let you know what the outcome of that is.

I think it may just have been the pads/roaters being glazed and it will hopefully go away soon... but in the meantime, the squeeking is just painful :(

Hey klym... any word on what the problem is or what it could be?

try using some brake quiet (found in Crappy tire) behind the pads... This "should" eliminate your issue..

Just got my car back from the dealer for that problem as well as other issues.. My brake problem was coming from the rears and it was deemed a seized handbrake cable. Had the brakes serviced and the cable release mechanism replaced under warranty and no problems since. Mind you it's only been 2 days since i got the car back lol

Hey klym... any word on what the problem is or what it could be?

Well my buddy called me after I left him a message saying that I had been experiencing the squeekiness... He said he's pretty sure that it's being caused by the used dealership putting on cheapo pads... essentially doing the bare minimum to have the car legally move off the lot and meet safety expectations.

I'm still sending it in to the shop on Monday for a full inspection (not just to look at the brakes) so we will see if anything further is found. Hopefully not.

this happend to mine to when i bought it in june of this year the dealer swapped the pads for crappy ones and it squealed soooo bad then the squeal turned into a grinding noise when i was almost at a complete stop.... so swapped the pads for a ceramic set and the squeal went away.... now they clunk everytime i press the pedal. i put that brake quiet stuff on and no luck it still clunks. i hate my brakes:bang

you can get a second opinion .. i had the same thing explained to me and called BS.. when i apply the brakes initially there is no groaning/creaking/squeaking but slowing to a stop the groaning and creaking is there. It almost sounds like a door in a haunted house!

Long and short, i got a second opinion.. brakes (rotors, pads, lines) are being replaced as there could be several factors involved (as i suspected, due to my own inspection). One being a brake system failure if i don't at least replace the pads..

Don't just rely on what the stealership tells you .. my 2 cents

you are changing the brake lines?

indeed, basically i will be upgrading everything, brake lines included. Perhaps go with a Goodridge G-Stop Brakeline Kit ... :) (apologies for the thread hijack)

So I got the final word from my buddy... after he took a good look at it. Basically he said the same thing, the used dealership put very crappy pads on it... and as a result they resonate causing the squeeking noise. They put the bare minimum on it to meet the safety requirements to get ya out the door.

Basically there isn't anything you can do it fix it unless you want to replace the pads (I guess I'll live with it till after the winter). Also, my buddy said it is not causing any damage to the car or anything... just extremely annoying.
