I was out today at Canadian Tire when I ran across this product. I've seen many threads on here in regards to salt stains from winter driving and thought I'd share with you another product that will help eliminate this issue.

It's called Salt Eraser, had its own display stand and packaging looks pretty nice. Sells for $9.99 and claims to remove salt stains without having to wash the carpets.

I uploaded some pics for you guys as well.

You guys should try pouring hot water on the salt stain and then vacuum the salt water. This method worked wonders for me. Hope you guys give some feed back on this.

Thanks Phil, but how come you couldn't have shown me this six weeks ago? I had a heluva time getting the salt out my carpet. Hot water doesn't even dissolve it very well. I may still try this as the carpet is still a little crusty.

well it worked for me on my car, another member did the same thing and worked on his car....

you might have to do it a second time if the stains where extremely bad.

Well, I tried twice. 2 x 1.5 litres straight from the kettle and repeated. Scrubbed with a stiff brush too. Granted this was the first time I tried to clean this in eight winters. Still seems crunchy

I got to try this product a few months ago (got to test it from the owner/inventor).

I works well on "light" salt stains, and I find the bottles don't really last that long as the foam inside really gets used up quick.

Conclusion: It works, but don't expect miracles.

Because this summer was rather on the cold side...it's just getting warm now. :(
