View Full Version : GB: PT-Performance Smoking Turbo Fix – TIME LIMITED!!!

The purpose of the GB is to allow all participating members to save on shipping and tax/brokerage charges. Basically, the price will be $25 USD + partial shipping which will be determined later.

Due to the fact that I really want to try to avoid this GB dragging on like some past GBs have, I will be closing it this Sunday night, August 23.

Anyhow I'm in... already have a smoking turbo and it's getting replaced next week.

65,000kms on the stock turbo, 07 version. I hope this makes my turbo last. No signs of smoking yet, and I'm running a DP and RP now. Smells like a lawnmower. =]

Oddly enough mine started smoking about 1 week after getting my TBE, but the stopped smoking and has never happened since. I still think this is good preventative maintenance though.

Right after I join this group buy I notice white smoke coming out of my exhaust. Should I wait this fix or is this something serious I should take to the dealer?

My turbo doesn't smoke (yet?), I'm getting this as a preventive thing. So even if you take it to your dealer to get it fixed, Notorious MS3, I'd install this after it gets back from the dealer to help it not smoke again....

and seals it....??

what's the point of even reattaching the hose after? lol

It's not plugging it completely. There's a small hole in the center.

Yay, no more smoke for me!
But I also had a kinked pcv hose going to the intake mani. After I fixed the pcv hose,
The smoking stopped.
I put the ptp fix in (after some sanding) and my first impressions are the car feels better in the lower rpm(more torque/smooth?) I dont know but it feels better.
