I'm wondering how wise it would be to design and build a set of braces to fit a universal torque damper (6") instead of buying pre-fabricated ?
I know it would save me about 150$(+) and I'm fairly handy, but cutting high density steal/aluminum might be a problem I think...any suggestions ?

if you can fab a kit that can be DIY-installed for ~$150, you'll have yourself a winner.
make sure it fits MZ3's and MS3's from 1st gen to the 2010+'s.
i got a kit in the works my self
pending price i may make 20 kits but i think it will only fit MS3

How are you cutting the metal ? I figure I could use a torch, but the edges would be ugly...of course a good grinding would help smooth em out I guess. I'm no master metal worker, will probably get a shop to do it and just draw it out to spec.

Here was the end result of my ETD project.
Measured and cut the mounts out of sheet metal (template) then brought them to a machine shop to cut out of 3/8" steel. (wish I had gone 1/4" now). Damper cost me around 60$ shipped. Paint cost 8$. All together 128$

Engine sounds mean starting up now, no wheel hop, more pull from stand still = very pleased.

How bout the extra vibration thru the cabin ?

I'll be honest with you. I only notice a slight vibration at idle and it does sound louder driving, but nothing extremely noticeable. Actually, I was really hoping to get that added cabin effect, but will settle for just the boost in performance. I'm not sure why, maybe because the metal in thinner (?)
maybe its the ETD it self
i find the ones i got are stiff

Yah, there isn't much play to this one, though I imagine it will soften up more with time. I actually had to go in and lengthen the damper a little because it had loosened up. Also, I have to correct what I said in my previous post, the engine noise is very noticeable with this installed.
