If anyone is serious about the car the seller no the buyer should have it appraised. Insurance would probably want one

I'm sure the guy will take you for a spin if you show the two silver suitcases filled with money and hand-cuffed to your wrist!

How old do they have to be for registration? A friend of mine is planning to import a 94 RHD Supra from Japan... I think it was for around $9000

rules have been changed.
the car must be made prior to 89 to import legally, from what i know.
however, the loophole, is to ship the car over in pieces, assemble it here, and register it as a kit car.

this is a "kit car".. canadian law simply states you cannot import anything under 15 years of age. So what this guy did is imported by pieces without engine, and assembled here and re-vined. Pretty smart actually, wander how hard was it..
Trust me, importing is a pain in the butt especcially with 10 digit vin numbers. But in the end it puts a smile in your face, and I get atleast 10 people that would stare at my car and few would walk around it. LOTS of attention.
100,000 is a bit to much I think, he doesnt list modes done to it, but if its stock I would give 80,000 for it.

The The R34 GT-R came in 1999 so wait till 2014 for an import lol....by the time u wait..each car for import will probably cost around $50,000. Depending on the used car value over in Japan.

Can't you pick up a new GT-R for about the same money?

A new GT-R on the road will cost $114,000 (With no markup)..so the answer is no.

I'd still pick the new GT-R over an illegal R-34 GT-R, for that money. You get a warranty, for one thing.
It's 15 years from the month of manufacture to be able to import it. Only way this would be legal is if it was an R32 or 33 with a -34 front end. The R-33s are only just becoming legal now.
