So with the new Cobalt SS and the Caliber SRT4 or 8, lol)....is the 07-09 MS3 still the quickest FWD car in the market?
Just wondering.....(bored on a Sunday :chuckle)

I think the cobalt ss is the fastest.. i remember reading somewhere on the board it was ranked #1.. i could be wrong!
but you know what... fastest or not...
the ms3 is the best looking vehicle inside and out!

i think the RS is AWD.
i'd imagine the fastest would be a grandprix GXP, with a 303hp 5.4L V8.
i think the same engine is also in the impala SS.
and i think some of the saabs are pretty quick too.
what about the neon SRT4? or the Caliber SRT4? cobalt SS?

nope its not. the Cobalt SS/TC is the fasest front wheel drive car out right now. it was proven on the nuriberbering that the cobalt was the fastest.
the americans are dominating the ring. zr1/viper srt10 =fastest production cars, cts-V fastest 4 door, and cobalt ss/tc fastest front wheel drive car.

Cobalt T/S is a faster car, because they is nothing of quality in the interior....that's why it's cheap as well.

Do you mean fastest 4 cyl. FWD car? In that case I believe it was until the Focus RS arrived. There are a few 6cyl and 8cyl FWD cars that are faster than the MS3.

Fastest FWD on the ring i believe is the Megane R 26R

I don't believe you, for obivious reason - I've owned too many of them. Many of them drives like an idiot, that's why they look fast. More HP doesn't mean it's faster..

Better numbers on HP doesn't mean Faster, otherwise, Caliber SRT has 300hp already and this thread won't exist.

I just put whatever FWD came to my head lol...it was late at night....Face it besides the Speed3..i don't thin there is any other on par...unless you go overseas...correct me if i am wrong lol.
My friend and I tried out the TC Cobalt last year when he was looking for a car. What a shit car. First of all, unless he didn't know how to drive it that car is crappy slow. Could have been something wrong with it too. When we came back to the dealer and opened the hood just to take a look at the engine, it was shaking at idle like fuel trims were all over the place. And the interior (even though we're talking power here) was ridiculous too. When he was adjusting the tilt on the steering wheel, the speedo and rpm needles were jumping up and down.lol What a garbage car. We tested the Speed 3 afterward and it blows the Cobalt out the water.

Acura TL is not 270 hp. It's actually 258 hp after the new SAE measurements were put in place. Type S was 286hp.
The TL feels much MUCH slower than the MS3. I miss my MS3.

I have with a Black Type S that was slightly modified. My MS3 was definitely faster especially top speed. The TL type S exhaust was upgraded and it sounded so sweet.
"Fast" is a relative term. Do you mean top speed, 0-100km/h, 1/4 mile, around a track?
Flipdady brought up a good point, if you want to talk about what I would consider fast FWD cars you have to look across the pond.

This might be stupid..but when u say top speed is better on the Ms3...its probably due to its Turbo..vs a NA V6 on the TL. I could be wrong....

I don't believe the TL has a manual gearbox either, which probably hurts the times a little bit, and it probably weighs quite a lot..
I'd say the fastest FWD is probably a toss-up between the Ford Focus RS and the Renault Megane R26R. The Renault is faster on the 'Ring, but the Ford is overall a nicer place to be.

Had a passenger say my car felt and seemed faster, than my neighbors TC Cobalt. So who knows

The focus rs may be fast - but at a price of 39000 euros - it's a 60000 dollar car here!!! A little pricey in my books - so the price per mph/kmh is high
