I got my license when I was 16 in my moms Mazda 616....that was 32 years ago now. Since then I have owned nothing but Toyota trucks and most recently a 2003 Matrix XRS.
Last week I picked up my 2008.5 Black Mica Mazdaspeed 3 and I haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face! I researched the heck out of a bunch of cars and concluded that the MS3 was where I wanted to go. It was incredible luck and timing that I found exactly what I was looking for, lightly used with 15,000 km and well priced, at the Northwood Moffat dealer in Barrie.
Actually, it is a little more than I was looking for...the previous owner had a custom leather interior made up for it with heated seats!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to a rewarding experience with this car. This forum is excellent and I will be going to it often for information.
Thanks

Ok...I just posted a few shots I took of the leather interior which, Im told, was a custom job. I am going to do a little detailing and a good wax job before I post any exterior shots....right now it just looks like any other black, somewhat dirty, bone stock MS3!

Welcome and nice purchase!
I know the previous owner of the MS3 you just got. He takes good care of his cars. I saw the leather/heated seats he had done, nice upgrade for our winters. It looked sharp too. Grats!

Owning a Mazda is like staying at the Hotel California. "You can check out but you can't leave."

Enjoy my car :chuckle
Ya, I had the leather with heat put in the end of May this year, not long before I traded her. And, even the the milage is low anyway, most of it is highway ... perhaps 2/3rds of it. I think all of the records were included in the glove box (not that there were many) but she's been running on synthetic since the first oil change.
Lastly, just to ease your mind, I traded it in because I needed a larger vehicle ... there's absolutely nothing wrong with her.

Again...thanks...especially to littleolme for keeping his car in such excellent condition, then trading it in so I could become the new owner.
Some oil questions...the dealer said he would have the oil changed prior to my delivery of the car....how can I be sure they used synthetic? How do you tell the difference once its in the car? If they used regular oil what is the potential for damage and how do I get it back to synthetic. I would like to keep her in the manner that she is accustomed to!

Weedly,
Welcome aboard.
Are you located in the Barrie Area?
Ask Glen or Jason in the service dept for a Oil Change card. It will run you $300 some odd dollars but when you go to do your oil changes, it will only cost you for the enviromental fee. ($3 Approx.) If they still offer it.
Have had nothing but excellent customer service from the service dept and the technicians.
After 10 changes it's paid for itself. IMO cuz i change my oil @ 3 months no matter what.
Side note:
Damn i should reall get the Barrie Newmarket meet going again. Maybe mid September.....

I live over Collingwood way so Barrie is only 40 minutes away. We don't have a Mazda dealer here...either Northwoods or over to Owen Sound so I will be dealing with Northwoods. I will ask about that card. My experience there has been good so far...no complaints.

Ok...I finally added some photos to a new album after I gave her a wash and wax this morning....I'm trying to add images to the post but for some reason I am unable to. The system says I can't post attachments. Any suggestions?

Nice to hear that I am not the only "old guy" driving a MS3. I am 44.

you need to host your pics on a third party site, photobucket, etc.
