Disney to buy Marvel for $4 Billion

I'm not sure what to expect from this, but hopefully a good outcome. I heard that Pixar may get involved in some animated flix with Marvel characters which would be sick. Hopefully we won't be seeing Spiderman with mickey ears too soon.

I'll reserve judgment about this until I see the direction they actually go. What they might be doing is buying a successful company, keeping things run as closely to as they are now as possible and get the profits. To me, it'd be stupid to change something like that.

Disney's actually done some good things recently in terms of branching out. The Kingdom Hearts set of games and merch. While not a LOT of Disney, they are probably making out pretty well with that.

I guess time will tell what will happen.

My biggest concern about the whole deal is the watered down versions of Marvel characters. Don't make the flicks light hearted. Disney better remember that its the average male that makes up a good chunk of the comic book movie business. If I see the Jonas Brothers have a cameo in the Iron Man 2 movie, I'll burn the theatre down. :flaming
