5 speed transmission - who is the manufacturer?

Is it Getrag or Aisin or is it manufactured by Mazda directly?

anyone able to answer this one?

I'm curious because of the reverse synchros. I've had a getrag trans before and it had synchros for reverse, but I believe the mazda 5 speed trans does not have it..

I searched online and couldn't find any clarification anywhere..

mazda makes the manual transmission, no one else
for the auto, I think it's ford because many design similarities as the 4 speed (which IS a ford tranny)... the misinformation has been floating around that its a jatco but I really don't believe that to be true at all

When ordering all the internal gears for the M/T all the parts are Mazda and no Ford bits.
