I wanted to start this tread to see how everyone has their rear license plate mounted. When I took mine off to add a plate cover, I noticed that it was simply screwed right into the plastic bumper! This sorta worried me since I would have to unscrew the plates once a year (or once every two years) to put on a license renewal sticker..wouldn't the plastic eventually wear out where the screws have gone in and out?
is there such thing as a bracket or something that can sit between the plastic and the plates?
You should be fine..i never had any problems doing this for years

everyones rear license plate is the exact same. some of us have tm3 plate covers some of us don't. there is no need for a bracket in between the plate and the plastic..your only taking it off to put on a new sticker lol

I've already had to change the bolts to some with larger threads because one of the holes was too big. Just don't over tighten and you should be ok.

Renew your plate for two years not not one...halves the number of times you have to R&R the plate cover....

why do you need to remove the plate to put the sticker on anyway? bend over and just put it on!

yea I thought of this...but you can only put a nut on the lower holes, the top ones are to high up and behind more plastic on the inside. still might be a good idea just in case...

You can buy nylon, inserts if needed... square up the hole and push them in. For example:

Stick a nut on the back, then try and get it off in a year! If you do that, make damn sure you use stainless steel!!!
