So, Ive bought a header, but im concerned with how loud the car would sound after putting the header in.
Has anyone from the forum tried Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator? Im not sure how much it ‘d quiet down the sound.
Or what would be the best way to suppress the sound of the header without losing hi-flow?
This is the setup I am thinking of.
Engine-Header-Flexible Pipe- Either Stock/Hi-flow Cat – Vibrant Resonator/Stock Resonator – Magnaflow Muffler.

What kind of header? And you will want to use the highflow cat 4sure.
Why not Engine-Aftermarket Header- Magnaflow Highflow cat- Magnaflow Catback Exhaust
The magnaflow catback is nice and not seriously loud. I doubt there is much of a difference between the quiet res and the magnaflow res. Just a thought.

By the way, heard some scary storys from the mazda dealership in my town about how Headers on the mazda 3 actually can hurt the valves on these motors and stock header seems to be the best with a catback.
When you do the install can you let me know what you gained/lost from bottom end - top end? Im interested

I have one installed. I'll be at AA next week so look for me and I'll take you for a run so you can hear it.
I'm running vibrant header--stock secondary cat--2.25 pipes --ultra quiet resonator--16x9 magnaflow muffler--tip

I'm running the ultra quiet resonator as well. It made a noticeable difference, as without it it was a little too loud for my taste.

Got an OBX header, think ill just go with my stock cat tho, ive read some reviews, but 1~2 HP gain for $100, i dont think its worth
doing it, i mean, nobody will actually feel any difference with just another horse pushing ur car.

If you're planning on bumping up pipe diameter - don't bother keeping stock cat or resonator with the original ID and OD. The backflow will make it even louder.
Def go w/ Hi-flow cat
and I would go cat-back exhaust rather than 5 seperate pieces welded together - the mandrel bends alone will make it smoother.
