Ajax mazda was a great experience...
Everyone from sales to service was great...I was a bit nervous with the whole "its in port" story..
But they kept to there commitment.... took delivery of my car this past saturday...
I love the car.
Plus the tech there owns a speed3 ..so its great to know that he really "knows" the car!
Cheers all!

I also had a great experience at the service department. Mark I think his name was, was a huge help. Long story but I had an awful experience at another dealership and Ajax mazda fixed me right up in no time. Plus it was a warranty item, so it cost me nothing!

Are they even open at the new location yet? I have only seen the sign.

They are open at the new location (I think it was Boyer Pontiac, just east of their old cramped location). It's a beautiful new dealership that Pontiac paid for and only had running for a few months before they choked. Mazda probably got it for a decent price.

I'm driving a 2010 GT Sport in Aluminum, tinted with window vents on the windows. I love it! Some minor things to winge about with it, but mostly design/material choices and not with anything major.

I'd seen complaints about Ajax Mazda service department and since a work a few blocks away from MOT, both are handy. First service was just yesterday up at MOT. Still waiting on the rear cargo tray we ordered with the car, but apparently they have been on back order for some time.

No complaints with MOT, just thought I'd see how Ajax was for those services where closer-to-home might make things easier.

Mine experience isn't as good... I bought my car from them 4 years ago with extended paint/rush protection. Every couple of years I'm suppose to bring it back for re-application and check to see if there are any rust. So far everytime I scheduled to have em re-apply they keep telling it isn't required. Plus I pointed out some bubble rust coming out of the rear doors and again I was advised that this is not under warranty. So screw ajax mazda.. taking my business elsewhere

Just thought I'd add to this thread, went for my first oil change at ajax mazda yesterday, last time I was there for a warranty claim (Great experience) in the old facility. I must say the new facility is pretty sweet. The indoor service garage is nice, as well as they can pull your car straight into the shop from the service lobby. The seating area is nice with comfy couches with ottomans! There is a vanhoutte coffee machine there that unfortunately wasn't in order when I went, but there was a sign saying it will be soon. I was talking to the service lady there and she was telling me that they will do mods to your vehicle (you can bring your own parts) that would normally void the warranty, like putting in aftermarket exhausts, or lowering or whatever. Not sure if I was getting a bit of a sales pitch there (probably was) but anyways. It's nice to know for someone that isn't familiar with doing this stuff themselves or doesn't want to chance their warranty if the vehicle is brand new.

Anyways, thats about it, good experiences are hard to come by these days I find, but I thought I'd share.

Have a nice weekend everyone

Hi Guys

My experience at Ajax Mazda would have to be average. I always leave there after service thinking IT WAS THAT MUCH??? I dont know about you guys but I think they tend to overcharge for work performed. other than that the new location is great..lots of stuff to keep yourself occupied.

No dealer is able to modify and guarantee that the warranty will not be affected. She lied to you. If your aftermarket exhaust, springs, lowering kit, speed chips or pcm mods affect the performance of your vehicle that will be you responsibility. Just so everyone knows, the techs at Ajax usually decline to go for the technical training as they are more interested in making money from you. The services that require brake services are done in a very poor fashion - they don't even take the brakes apart to lube anything. Diagnosis of an involved nature is usually a guess, and the Service Manager really doesn't know much about his shop. They break more than they repair, and do you really want to go back 3 or 4 times because they can't seem to understand fix it right the first time ?

By gosh or by golly repairs are the rule there - find another dealer if you want to have any sort of confiedence in your repairs being done right.

All the good mechanics left there quite a while ago.

All dealers over-charge for comparitive work that you could get done elsewhere, since dealers don't charge actual hours spent, but use the 'guide book' for effort of time estimation and their loaded labour rates are higher than the vast majority of independant shops.

Also, there are good and bad dealers. Not all are equal. Nor are the qualifications of the service personnnel in even the good dealerships.

Find out the qualifications of the techs at your dealership. If they have a Mazda Master tech on premises (few dealerships do), you can ask for this person and this person only to work on your car. If not, find a tech you trust and ask for them. It drives and enforces direct accountability.
