Should one have some sort of track training before getting on Shannonville or anything like that? Also I believe helmets are required or severely encouraged to have. What would be a reasonable helmet price or helmet brand?

Thanks

HJC has some pretty good ones that are affordable. Just go to a bike shop and say you need a Snell M2005 helmet, they'll show you what they got.

You could go with just a DOT approved helmet, but should you wish to use it for other events it may not be accepted.
