Hey Guys,

I picked up a Starmate 5 sirius radio on the weekend but I am having a problem with interference. I can faintly hear buzzing relative in frequency to the rpm of the engine. Any idea what that could be? Seems like a grounding issue but I'm not sure of the cause yet. (anyone else have an issue like this?)

The thing I'm wondering though, could I use this thing instead:

Sirius SiriusConnect Interface Adapter (SNY-SC1C)

It certainly would be a lot cleaner of an install. Is that directly compatible with the stock radio or do I need another adapter or something?

Thanks!

if you're just plugging the source (any source, ie mp3 player, DVD player, iPhone, etc.) to the cig lighter AND the aux, you may be introducing GROUND LOOPS into the system which is a source of the "rpm whining" that you may see. others may be able to explain this better...

I believe a Line-out converter (LOC) or a ground-loop isolator will solve your problems...

I'll look into the LOC thing.

Does anyone know about the Sirius SiriusConnect Interface Adapter (SNY-SC1C) and the stock head unit?

Thanks!
