majestic colonial punta cana

So.... here is my review of the resort/stay/food/and entertainment outside of the resort.

I left Canada on the 13th of Sept and returned on the 20th. Stayed for 7 days and paid $1050 CDN taxes in for one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. We were supposed to get a standard room with two double beds and a poolside view. Once arriving we got the nicest room in the hotel with only 1 king size bed... (not cool for two dudes) . So..... talked with the desk they offered a twin size bed for free and gave us a bottle of rum .


Room- Our room was clean, 2 balconys, outside 5 person Jacuzzi, tall ceilings (20ft) , lots of room, the fridge only kept beer chilled and not tooo cold but it was nice. The room was always 19 degrees, which was nice and cold since it was 97+ outside. Maid service and the guy who filled the fridge were polite and always did a nice job. I have no complaints what so ever regarding the room.

Beach - Loved the beach.... clean, not that much coral. The snorkeling was amazing. Instead of paying $50+ to go to a reef by boat, got the equipment for free and went on the beach lots of fish and things to see. Never tried windsurfing or kayaking which I regret or other activities you had to pay for but hey still had fun. We went in Hurricane season meaning the resort is only at 40% occupancy. So lots of room, no lines up and fast service. I do not recommend this beach for small children or married men…. Lots of boobies

Food- The A’ la cartes were nice and the buffet was delicious. Not as good as home but for a five star resort it was nice. Stay away from water (tap water) and salads. My friend hate it and was sick for a little bit of the day but bounced back after 10 drinks.


Entertainment- There are soo many things going on at this resort. Which leads to a negative point. If you go to bed early be prepared to hear “bass” at mid-night due to the parties and entertainment going on. I highly recommend watching the “Michael Jackson show” . You can youtube videos of it …. Just amazing. **we left the resort and went to a club that was in a cave called “imagine” and partied with the guy who does the Michael Jackson and saw an awesome break dance competition.


Pool - was amazing, clean and lots of people , and the swim up bar was awesome. Also the grounds on the property was clean and no garbage what so ever.

There are soo many thing I can go on and take about and I have over 500 pictures and videos so if you want me to post up more let me know. I’d highly recommend Punta Cana over any other area in Dominican due to it’s safe you can go off the resort at night and be ok. And there are NO MERCHANTS on the beach giving you a hard time.

Awesome sounds like you had a blast!

I just went to Punta Cana recently (Sept 6th). I was considering the Majestic Colonial but ended up going to the Gran Bahia Principe Ambar (adults only) instead. The adults only part was nice since my gf and I didn't have to deal with kids with diapers going in the pool LOL.

The beaches in Punta Cana are quite simply amazing, I would say they are as nice as the beaches in Cuba (varadero).

I would definitely go back to Punta Cana and maybe try the Majestic Colonial based on your experience.

Mary-J is easy to find ask ppl on the beach , or maids. It's not anything like back home. But cheap. You can smoke it on the resort infront of the guards and in the night clubs but use caution! (the people I partied with were chronics brought a pipe over from the USA unused and smoked like no tomorrow) . You can get any drug from the resort/staff doesn't matter if it's a five star or a one star. We stayed at one of the nicest resorts and the people we partied with got it within 30 mins of arriving at the resort. The staff will do whatever it takes to help you out and make sure you have a good trip lol

A group of frineds is perfect, two people bailed on our trip so it's just me and my friend. The food is decent. I recommend anything that is cooked infront of you, chicken, steak, fajitas . Stay away from the burgers.. they are worse than Burgerking! The À la cartes I'll give a brief review:


Supreme - Main buffet restaurant offering Italian and international food with several show-cooking areas. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Air conditioned
My review: It's great... again love the food they cook infront of you and you know it's freash.... for tips get there as soon as they open so you know the food isn't sitting out. Stay away from salads... and the deserts melt yes.. even with the air conditioning .

La Hispaniola - Beachfront restaurant with sea views. Open for Continental breakfast. ... never had it .. hate sea food and never woke up for breakfest..for lunch they have fish... yuck

Taino - Caribbean-style restaurant open for dinner until midnight. No reservations required. Offers a selection of hors d'oeuvres, sandwiches, and snacks. Air conditioned my review...... good place the starter of Nachos is gross and the nachos in general are bad ..... the fajitas are good :)

Le Gourmet - Gourmet cuisine featuring meat and fish dishes. Open for dinner. Adults only. Reservations required. MY review: Tasty ... the starters suck..... get the beef and the creme brulee taste like pudding lol but decent.... you must be in dress code ... so jeans dress shoes and shirt... mind you most people just wore t-shirts :loco

Matsuri - Asian restaurant offering two different dinner options: The Teppanyaki (reservations required), with three seatings per night and maximum of 10 people per Teppanyaki, and a la carte restaurant with sushi bar, main courses, and desserts. No reservations required for a la carte restaurant. Dress code applies. My Review BY FAR THE BEST.... Teppanyaki kicks ass.... by far the most and best food you'll have to book that shit twice lol ... if you like wine.. your glass will never be half empty... drunk before I even got the meal lmao and the cooks.. are just awesome.

As for the drinks.. I tried em all . I recommend Mama Juana everyone has different side-effects for me it was like absinthe I hallucinated BIG time .... lol didn't have the side effects wikipedia said... ... if you wanna have the best sleep of your life... do two shots and you will NEVER have a hangover!!!! Trust me ... drank over 120 drinks in 7 days .... never hungover or felt like shit... thanks mamajunana !

It was THE first resort in the DR that I went to that had decent non-greasy food. A+++ on the Adults only portion since your had your own kiddie free pool and beach. Best of all name brand, not the local crap booze was part of the package. Better yet you could walk for hours on arguably the best beaches in the Caribbean..........

For me to see how poor these people are and how friendly ... tipped 100 paseos a day to the maid .... you don't have to go crazy but usually a $1 every other day..... if it's peek season .... tip the bartender and you will always get your drinks faster.... we never waited for our drinks.. mind you.... wasn't that busy.. thus why we went off the resort at night :)


We made lots of friends, got emails of staff members and are gonna stay in touch with them ... and having some of them cry due to a nice tip... really hit home I guess.... making/helping out that little bit... worth while! People in Dominican are hard working people and I have nothing but respect for them

I was just at the Majestic in the 1st week of March!

It was one of the best Resort and Beach I have vacationed too, and I have travelled and stayed at many All Inclusive Hotel!

The Food and Service was outstanding! Premium Alcohol at all Bars (Grey Goose, Jack, Gordon,Johnny Walker)

I would def. go back again!

Plus there are a lot of topless girls for all you Mazda Driving Perverts! lol

To be honest for single guys giver shouldnt be too hard to pick up but it's more of a couples resort. If you do want to pick up venture off the resort and go to "imagine" the under ground cave bar (one of the top clubs in the world) easy to pick up and lots of women . I'll email you later
