Hey guys,

I just bought a 2006 Mazda 3 Hatch. Its an amazing car so far, but one thing that is starting to get on my nerves is this little missing clip. Can someone tell me what its called or where to get one before I start getting a twitch while driving?

I'm not sure how it works on the Mazda 3, but our old Suzuki also had a transmission lock. Basically, if you completely deplete your battery (or disconnect it), the transmission gets locked into park unless you push the tab back in. My guess is that if you were to lock up your transmission, you would need to stick a screwdriver into there and push down before u can shift out of park.

Once again, this is based on my previous experience with a different car, and some educated guessing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

There should be a small cap that clips in there.

heh, my friends 2000 grand prix is busted, so the only way he can shift out of park is by sticking a nail in there.
