The only different is key in sideway.

That's not the only difference.
1. Key portion is completely different, the newer Mazda keys don't have the 2 extra grooves.
2. Remote may look the same but the internals might be different so you take your chances programming it.

I know the keyblade is not the same. If someone own one of these cars, they might try to use Mazda's remote to play with it. I remember the programming's key for Ford Focus is the same instruction with Mazda but for the remote might be different.

but it would be sick if it did work :)
you can change the blade there is a pin that you can push out
I'm more concerned about immobilizer chip on that key
btw how much are they ?
