I went to Lakeshore last year. Zero problems with them. I will be going back this year again for a re-spray.
Considering their online presence on many forums, they have to be doing something right, otherwise they would have been exposed by now as inferior.

I went to the Krown shop near my work, at Highway 7 and Credistone. Nice people, fast service.
My only complaint is that this is the first time I got Krown'd, and they failed to mention to me that because my rotors were also sprayed, my stopping power would not be as good, i.e. I have to push the brake a lot harder than I would normally have to.
Luckily I found this out on an empty road, and not when another car in front of me. I think the braking should be an important thing to mention!

No matter what, you're going to encounter overspray, it's airborne. The overspray will not harm your vehicle. Besides, from my experience, they hand wash the car when they're finished anyway. As for the rotors, just use your brakes in the parking lot a few times. If you're as meticulous as myself, try observing their work before making an appointment. I think you're safe, as long as you stick with Krown.
What area are you from?

Yup, you'll have to be very cautious the first several brake applications as you will have very little to almost no braking ability....You could also ask that they be careful not to spray too much around the rotors.
Here's another safety tip when getting it sprayed; from personal experience; Do not walk around in the shop (On the shop floor) it'll get the formula on the soles of your shoes and you'll find your shoes slipping off the pedals when you drive lol.....very scary experience. :chuckle

I find that hard to believe!, as the person at Krown even warned me about the braking!! So it must be a common occurance....and they don't spray the rotors, it's the overspray from spraying the surrounding area.

I know when my buddy got his vehicle sprayed at krown, and when he picked it up after it was done, all three pedals were greasy so he had a hard time driving it at first!

i went to krown at markham and sheppard, never going there again, there was oil all over the place, there was oil on the steering wheel, on the gear knob, and the pedals. It was pretty dangerous when my foot slip off the brake pedal while i was trying to stop. I have to pull over, grab lots of tissue and wipe everything.......

I got mine done at Krown Lakeshore about a month after I picked up the car.
But, I'm having second thoughts now. There have been forum members that have sprayed their cars every year, and STILL get rust. Also, I hate dealing with the oil leaking for weeks and weeks after it's been sprayed =\ I'll think about it a bit more before deciding whether I should do it or not next year...

They're not supposed to spray directly into the rotors, pads and braking system. That would be a 'liability lawsuit' waiting to happen.
Overspray is inevitable though and they should be warning their customers about a decreased ability to brake direcly after service and provide recommendations to get rid of the overspray after driving away, such as burning it off through braking.

I rember back in the day when i used to use rust check they would spray my rims..so this is why every time i go i make sure they don't spray my rims.....
Honestly i never had any issues of not been able to stop after geting my car sprayed...mind ya i'm not doing 100km and trying to stop...as soon as i pull out of the krown shop here their is a stop light and i always stop fine

Wow about Rust Check...
I hear you. I know plenty of folks that get annual rustproofing. Some have some issues with braking afterwards and some don't. However, Krown should still be warning people about the 'possible' effect of decreased braking due to overspray. If they don't, they're risking a very serious lawsuit one of these days...

I had my car done at the Dufferin location last week, it's still dripping over the weekend after a car wash =(
Took me a day to get the brakes working in 'normal condition' after Krown , but i was already warned by the staff that to be careful for the first 'couple' brake session...like Flagrum said : Be VERY CAUTION after a krown application when you brake or you might end up a crumbled front end with the newly rust proofed car

Excuse the thread jack...but has anyone with problems with krown on some of the plastic panels underneath the car?
I brought the car in for service a few days ago and the guy in the shop just kept telling me there shouldn't be oil on the plastic (referring to the black plastic piece at teh bottome of the bumper) and told me the oil will 'deform' it.....any input to that one?

Been getting it sprayed for years now and no problems with warping plastic :) ...It's a Myth!
They did wash your car afterward did they not? and expect the formula to run for awhile onto your panels but nothing to worry about....trust me.:)
They even gave me a bottle of their formulated car wash (free) and a coupon for another hand wash at their shop!!
In response to other posts; They are not supposed to spray directly on your brake system or spray your wheels but as mentioned overspray is inevidable. They should be wearing gloves and paper boot covers but it is also inevidible that some overspray will get to interior pieces as they must spray some areas with the doors open.
Krown employees "should be" warning people that the brakes may be effected and to drive cautiously for a time, my guy did and I found applying the brakes several times worked to clean them off afterward.
Anyone in the east end, I use the Krown on St.Clair between Danforth and Midland. They're very professional, do a great job including a thorough car wash and most times give me a freebee; last time it was thier interior care product :)
