I'm looking into buying a header for my car but I'm debating between which one. Does any one have any advice as to which one, or if they had any troubles with a certain one ( ie: installation, or if caused a cel)
Thanks alot!

Header + clickity click (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/search.php) = answers!
Some tips; if you have a 2.3L you need to drop the subframe to install the header; if you don't relocate your secondary o2 sensor you can get a CEL. Even after the relocation kit you can still run into CEL's.

Same. But even that one throws CELs at times. Some ppl are lucky and don't get any at all. For that reason, I stayed with the stock one just to be safe. Plusss, I was told by 2 dealers (Airport and Prima) it voids the warranty.

i heard that in order to use a vibrant header you need to also have a vibrant exhaust, is this true?

False.
*Edit (was posting from work)* You do not need a Vibrant exhaust to run a Vibrant header. The header pairs up nicely with most (if not all) 2.25 id cbe's (magnaflow, mazdaspeed). I have a custom cbe with Vibrant header; the pipes on my cbe are from the mazdaspeed accessory exahaust. Try and use the search engine and you will find a number of people here have headers with unmatched cbe's. You will also find all of the answers to relocating the secondary o2 sensor.
BTW, if you're interested in a Vibrant header I have a brand new one FS, with warranty. PM me if you're interested; there are pics in the marketplace.

That must sound really really nice. Hopefully I can hear it one day at a meet!

i had a vibrant header too, for about a year. never had a single CEL form it. the extra high end power was sweet, the loss in low end, not so much lol

I have an OBX. I dont feel any lose (or barely) on low-end torque, or any super gain on High-end torque, but i feel massive gain around 2500~5000.
Especially from 1st-2nd shift, and 2nd-3rd. Overall, nice gain and i love it.

Do you have a custom fabricated flex pipe, or did you get the OBX 'downpipe'?

Try searching and you will find a lot of info. I've been running this header for about a year and the only CEL's I've had are related to a bad secondary o2 sensor.
The short answer to your question is yes, you can run into numerous problems with a header (not just vibrant). I'll assume that you, or whomever is installing the header is mechanically inclined enough to get past the mechanical challenges. The majority of other issues are related to your o2 sensors; they can get effed up when you remove them from your stock setup; it's possible that they won't read the exhaust air speed properly because of how deep/shallow they are set in the exhaust stream; if you do a poor job extending the wires to relocate the secondary you can run into issues with your car reading the signal from the o2 sensor. I'm sure there are other issues you can run into that have been covered. Search using 'vibrant header' and a number of threads will come up with decent info.

thanks a lot! as a personal question do you think a vibrant header is worth it, and is it noticeably louder?
Donutz

Worth it? If you get it for a good price, the cost is worth it. Some things to consider are your other mods, and will the header compliment them; the gains may be worth it if you have at least a cbe. I can't tell you anything about the difference between 2.0L and 2.3L, but I suggest looking into that as well just in case there are any differences that you might want to be aware of.
Louder? Hell yes. I have a custom 2.25 id cbe which I added a 4x9x16 gigantic straight through muffler and vibrant ultra quiet resonator. My car is civil sounding at low RPM and is loud at high RPM. Before this setup I had a number of other custom exhaust setups all of which were loud. Tolerance to loudness is qualitative, so you might feel different about how loud the header seems. The best thing to do is see if some people with different setups are willing to take you for a spin so you can see/hear for yourself.

+ 1 for Jason.
Ive tried few different setups for my exhaust system,
finally settled down on my current setup of magnaflow, custom flex pipe, and vibrant resonator

I had been looking at an obx header as well and a lot of people on the mazda3forums have said they had a lot of leaking problems with their header and downpipe and they had to get a flex pipe made. is that what your referring to when you say custom flex pipe?

Yea, that would be perfect. I ordered a vibrant header from protegegarage.com but im still waiting for it to arrive. So it hasn't been installed yet. My only concern is if it will be to loud, or if ill get any cels. But im defiantly willing to meet up with you one day to see what it sounds like! Thanks a lot!

No problem at all...
In fact, any aftermarket header of any brand has potential risk of issues/troubles.
Not just a certain brand.
