My short shifter just arrived =D planning on installing that on saturday. Before i do, I have a few questions for you guys.
Its Tech Racing SS from the recent group buy.
Should i use the metal bushings or use the stock rubber ones? What one will be better?
Did anyone find a way to use the huge metal spacer for the boot? or did everyone have to buy one from canadian tire?
Is their any way to shorten the stock boot to their isnt so much slack ?

Read thr gb thread and you will find most of your answers.
I say yes, use the bushings; go to CDN Tire and buy washers that you will need to install the bushings. Bent the metal spacer so it stays on the shifter (in one of the channels on the shaft). You can remove the bracket holding the boot in, pull tne boot down, cut slots in it, then bolt it back in. Once you pull it apart and look at it from underneath the console you'll see what I mean.

most of the guys in the gb used the metal bushings, i didn't bother and its still really solid. as for the C clip i didn't use, i went the ghetto route:P took a washer and wrapped an elastic band around the shaft at the level i wanted the boot and slid the washer down ontop of the elastic band. then when i tie the boot on the washer and srew down the knob it fits really tight, suprisingly it is working perfectly LOL!

Use the metal bushings. It makes a huge difference in the give when entering the gates.
