What are your thoughts on this? I don't see this increasing the likely hood of those who do not wear a seat belt just to wear one because it's a tad more comfortable or it inflates.

Kids, buckle up, regardless. :)

The physicist in me wonders what it would be like to strap something meant to explode and expand in a fraction of a second to someone chest... I could see some kinks in it.

Well one of the airplanes I fly has an airbag across the lapbelt. I think its more of a marketing gimmick than anything.

Hmm Interesting thing for sure. I dunno whether it will work or not. I think it could hurt someone in the end as well as safe someone's life.. but only time will tell

Are you trying to say that Ford would actually put out a product that doesn't work? That would never happen...lol

I just think its nuts that they would introduce these belts on an SUV of all things! Just more encouragement for SUVs to be driven when there should be less of them on the roads.
