not a linux/ubuntu user (yet), but I'm thinking of trying the Chrome OS when it comes out...I already have a Pentium 2 w/ minimal RAM ready for it.

Anyone else going to give it a whirl?

Chrome (the browser) works really well, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the OS turns out. I might throw it on an extra P3 I have laying around.

New Linux distros never excite me. =) But it'll be interesting to see if Google does anything different with this one.

You can pretty much count on Google trying something different, that's what sets them apart from the rest.

I may try chrome on my netbook if it gets decent reviews.

Well, the only thing that seems to set this OS apart is that it's almost entirely web driven and stripped down. At least, that's what I gathered in 5 minutes... Not sure I'd want that. It's COOL, but not something I'd use every day.

I'm with you on that one, certainly for a regular PC.

A netbook with chrome could be a really good thing though, we will see.
