I'm just curious what each of you prefer, I have a cai kit that I'm installing now but mine is a 2 part system so I have a choice here. I just wan't to see what each of you have come across when it comes to either. I know the differances and the gains on both. Just wanted to see what other members have come across? :bang

This topic is a dead horse. You are going to get arguments from both sides. If your intake is a 2 piece and can be used as either or, then really what does it matter? As you can try out both.

Well I'm currently doing it as we speak and I don't want to re-install the bumper to just take it off again to swap. Just wanted to see what other members have come across. I know the topic is well over played but I was hoping for some feedback is all. I've searched the threads high and low but haven't been able to find actual comments on there own experiance.

In short:
CAI has the better payoff, but could cause the most headache. Worse case scenario is hydrolock, not so bad is random misfiring from water droplets going through. Bypass valves are worthless. Hydroshields actually do something.

SRI gives you a little extra power, with no headache.

Oh and 30 secs of research:

Comparisons between the two types.

I became tired of typing in such search strings as "CAI vs SRI", Simota, Takeda, or even AEM. So I only posted 7 links. /Sarcasm

*EDIT* ^^^ 'what the deuce?!" You must have been searching at the same time as me!

If you look at the following threads you will find lots of feedback from people about specific brands, why one is better than the other (brand and style), etc. I search CAI SRI and there are pages of feedback to be found (below are just a few).

I had seen alot of these already which helped me understand the differences. I really just wanted feed back from member with one or the other already done. I appreciate the links. I finished not to long ago. Tried the short ram but with the bend of the front pipe it was starving for air so I just continued with the full install. No hesitations, sounds amazing and I have the hydra shield so I'm hoping for the best.

Do you guys swap back to the stock air box in the winter or just run it all year round?
