The heart of the Scirocco R is a 265-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. One will have the choice between a standard six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the latter offering a fully automatic mode. Also included is Volkswagen's new XDS electronic differential.
Need I say more?

I'll be the outcast....
not a fan! The front is ok the interior is mediocre at best and the back...just doesn't look right. Looks like a Golf and a Rabbit had an inbred baby.... ya the Hp and engine sound decent but ya not a fan.. don't get me started on the side profile

Yet another vehicle that Canada (actually all of North America) isn't going to get. The standard Scirocco has been out for about a year already in Europe.
I love it, I have always liked these cars. My friend has done up an older one and I effing love it. I hope at some point these come here.

I dunno about that..the MSRP in the UK for the base model isn't much more than a Golf GTI. I really have no idea why they didn't bring it over - maybe they just don't feel there's a market for low-slung two door hot-hatch. They probably don't want to risk cannibalizing the GTI sales over here.

I spoke with someone about why it's not available and apparently the production price and something to do with allowing it here that will raise the msrp. That's what I was informed but the person I spoke with wasn't sure what that key component is that makes it so expensive

partially true, but it would also likely compete too much with the audi s3 and tt models in north america which is probably why they haven't tried to find a way to get around the currency issues. too bad as it is a great looking car... perhaps if toyota and Subaru build that coupe concept as an STI coupe under the Subby brand that will motivate VW to change their mind

probably because they are the same car lol... except I think Toyota is going naturally aspirated and RWD and subby would go AWD and turbo

Thumbs down. looks like a squished Golf from the back, and styling cues of the Focus RS in the front.... Interior is dated. 2 thumbs down!

Thats a sweet looking ride. The interior just wraps around the driver nicely making it all about the driver.
