View Full Version : Forge V2 BPV
Apparently no one ever bothers throwing up videos/recordings of this BPV.... So I tried to capture the sound as best I could.
It's just audio and it's INSIDE the car (driver window open). Clearly not the best way to capture the sound, but it's all I could do :P
Enjoy...

Props for the sound clip, I was starting to think the V2 was just a myth. Sounds good, glad there is no more sword clashing sounds.
Here's another audio recording from inside the car. This one sounds nicer.

I've got more coming in in a week or so. PM me to reserve one if you want it.
Yup, got mine off Patrique.
It's a mod worth doing if you are still running the stock BPV.

Dare I ask pro's/con's of the v2 forge bpv vs. turbosmart dp bov? (cost aside). Reason I ask is I've been reading up on this a lot and I'm still confused -- and currently running my factor OEM bpv.

Unfortunately I can't really comment on the other brands first hand, since I've never used them.
The best thing for your car is always going to be a bypass valve (BPV). Running a BOV 100% atmosphere could cause damage to your engine since you'll be running very rich. Some people think the unburnt fuel will wash away oil from parts inside your engine. You COULD run one of those hybrid BOV's that recirculate a bit of air and vent the rest to atmosphere...
Oh and no matter what you run your car will back fire once in a while. I haven't quite figured out WHEN it does it yet, it seems to be under hard acceleration... but I haven't been able to reproduce it consistently. :) With stock exhaust it's barely audible... Some people like it. I haven't formed an opinion yet. ;)

When I replace mine I'm sure I'll go with this BPV. I've only had my car for 20k, and the stocker shouldn't be leaking yet. Although I don't have a boost gauge either! Time to start spending.

Boost gauge is a good idea, especially after some mods. Car should of came with one. I have CAI, TBE and Forge BPV. Just ordered a vent pod and glow shift gauge. Check out the site a lot of them are on sale. I got an Elite Tinted Series, $39.99.

My computer can play the sound clips for some reason. Can you explain if the v2 sounds similar to that of the original? (does it sound 'metallic' like the original)
Nope, no more metallic clanging sounds. Doesn't sound as nice as a full BOV, but for a BPV it sounds great IMO.

I just installed the Forge BPV this morning. I have a couple questions though. Which spring is the best to use? I'm still using the stock intake system, but will be installing a Cobb SRI and rpmc inlet later this week. Right now I've got the blue spring and a shim. Thanks for the help.

I've read a couple of thread that the best spring+shims combo is the blue +1 shim for stock and when you've added the cobb sri+inlet, you can try blue +2. Yellow is too soft and Red is for some serious hardcore boost (20 psi +).

Thanks! That's what I have gone with. Is a BPV something I should swtich back to stock for dealership visits?
Nah I wouldn't worry about removing it for dealership visits. Did you get the black one? It looks stock as is. :)

Yepper, black one looks pretty much identical. They are replacing all my swaybar bushings under warranty, so they shouldn't be anywhere near it.
