Not sure if there are any on here but I've got some questions regarding Data Billing..
So I've used all my resources and can't come up with an answer... I've called Customer care, used self-serve and used www.bell.ca/mybell and can't come up with the answer.
Issue: trying to track how much data is used and keep up to date on it .
Problem: My phone says I've used 158mbs and all of bells data through customer care/self-serve and the website show me using 14mbs which is right? . Bell says their stats are but they are unrealistic
During the beginning of my bill cycle I've streamed videos/ youtube, facebook and downloaded over 30 apps... now how the hell is it I've only used 14mbs. This isn't making sense to me.
Now for you Iphone users out there you can go to settings/general/usage and it will display "cellular network data" - sent 6.1mbs and received 150mbs. So I call customer care and all the other self-serve options (text 82273 for data usage) or website and it says 14mbs ... now I'm not an expert last time when I download an app that is 30mbs that means I've received over 30mbs of data to my phone... how the hell can bell screw this up?
IS anyone else on their network ? Or have issues tracking data with other carriers? Am I SOL or any tips? I have a 2gig plan so I'm not tooo worried about going over I just like to keep up to date

+1 to Rogers and their new app. Maybe Bell should make one just like it, real time stats as of 4 hours.

No wifi connection... at work password protected. The selfserve option (texting 82273) shows up to the last 2 hours for usage.
But common going online to the app store, streaming "videos" lol and youtube .. that's more than 14mbs I just don't want to get screwed by bell... I just want an accurate usage amount and not to get slapped in the face with a $500 bill I'm not sure if I can trust bell with the lack of usage or follow the counter on the Iphone

I guess for Roger accounts ..... does it use your data plan (connecting to the internet if not on wifi) if you load the app store? (I'd assume so) .

The real dumb thing about this app is that you need to be on the 3G network to see your wireless usage. It should still let u see your total on wifi.
its not dumb at all
cus if you don't have data then there is nothing to see

Yeah but there may be times I want to see my usage w/o being on the network...

But how would they access your info? From what I read on the reviews it uses 3G to access your account

how's that ? Ur not just using wifi all the time? jailbroken?
So I gues I bite the bullet and just follow this crap
You can keep track of your total data usage anytime through Self serve:
Online: Log in to My Bell to get the most current usage summary available.*
On your smartphone: Launch the Web browser from the main menu of your phone or smartphone and choose the Self Serve option at the footer of the homepage. Then select Continue to get the most current usage summary available.*
*Usage summary starts from the date of your last bill and is current as of 2 hours prior to session.

My Bell page does the same thing for my iphone.
I suggest, if you want to track the month usage statistics on your phone, that you reset the data statistics on the phone at the beginning of every billing cycle...

I say stop worrying about it so much. If you've got 2GB you're fine. You're not going to go over that unless you're using your phone as a modem. I undetstand the keeping up to date, so if you are that concerned just call customer service and they'll give you a reading instead of a text or what the phone says. (I'd assume the phone to be more accurate as it's the one downloading and browsing everything)
Bell I feel never tracks properly for some reason. My bills were always messed up - the main reason I got the hell out and went with Rogers.

Nice thing is this app was developed by a local mobile development company for Rogers, and it's the #2 Free Download on the AppStore!

Rogers isn't bell nor really helps my ass out lol maybe I should just download and see if it works ha
Wifi won't show up on data used under settings. Only OTA data will.
I would use the data downloaded info on your device as a reference. Reset it each bill period.

aight thanks
You could do a screen shot by pressing both top power and bottom home buttons each time you reset it to save the image of how much data you used during your last bill cycle.

They are a new carrier with it so I would just give them time and I'm sure they will have something.

So.... final stats are in.. and bell is HORRIBLE at tracking data with the 3 days proration... I used over 298mbs of data (3 days)... bell stated on my bill I only used
Packet Plan Usage Summary
Total megabytes 28.5314
Total this month $0.00
Bell's horrible way of tracking data FTW!!!!! but I think I really need to lower my usage of text lol
Events
Unlimited messages 4431 events 0.00
TXT MSG Short Code Programs Sent 10 events 0.00
TXT MSG Short Code Programs Received 21 events 0.00
Picture Messaging 3 events 1.50

haha if the texts are free who cares how many you send!
I'm sure I'd sent that many too, but BBM doesn't count as a text msg =P

28.5314 megabytes (MB) = 228.2512 megabits (mb)
So they aren't too far off.

1000 kb means 1 mb(megabyte) . If they are showing the data as "28.5314 MB" how does that = 228.2512mbs? You'd assume the . (decimal) means only 28MBS right?
Meaning .... So far I've used
Mobile Browser Usage: In-plan 273.7859 MB
Total In-plan 273.7859 MB
meaning 273.7859MB out of 2gigs? LOL did I screw this up or what... I'm confused as shit right now lol .
This is what was shown on my E-bill
i P h o n e E m a i l & I n t 2 G B D a t a U s a g e
@$.00/MB 4.6620 MB $0.00
1 X M o b B r o w s e r M o b i l e B r o w s e r U s a g e
@$.00/MB 23.8694 MB $0.00
which is only MB right?
