I just wanna say that I LOVE SNOW DAYS like this...

why?

EVERYONE pussies out on the morning commute. I left my house at 7:50am from Mississauga and got to work WITH a stop at tim hortons all the way downtown at DVP/Lakeshore at 8:20am at my desk. *sigh* life is wonderful... So, THANK YOU everyone for being chickens and not wanting to drive in slushy snow. :winner

Weirdddd!!!! The world is endingggg.....

Someone actually cut me off today on these roads... full on SLAMMED on the gas and made a left in front of me, JUST so he could get ONE car length ahead. No one was behind me, he had to risk both our lives cuz he just could not bear the thought of waiting 2.7 seconds and having to drive behind another car.

After all that commotion, he decides to drive 20kph in front of me... Seriously. I was already cruising at 43... jackass :complain

I feel like getting out of my car, jumping in there's and being like, "here! this is how you can drive in conditions like this! It's only a little bit of snow, you are not driving on oil covered marbles! you can go faster than 10 km/h on a street that's designed for 60km/h!!!! haha yah no kidding... there's driving slow enough to be safe on slippery roads, but then there's just ridiculously slow, which usually means fear in the driver... and driving close to a fearful driver is an accident waiting to happen. They don't really acknowledge who is around or behind them, they just look straight ahead and fend for themselves. Worst drivers EVER.

My morning comute was fine this morning..though highway 7 was a bit of a "2 lanes here, two and a half there" kind of thing.

My commute was the same..but @ 5am in the mornin. People were making their own lanes on the 404 and 401 collectors. I think I got my car into 3rd gear once thru the whole commute.

I left my house at 5am today for work and made it in for 6:30 including a stop at Tim's. This morning was my first time using winters and I couldn't believe the difference they make. No problems making my own tracks on the 403 :)

The drive home is going to be nice...

Fobio

hwy 7 was pure BS this morning going west in the Markham area...it'd have taken 45min to go from McCowan to the 404. Good thing I was going the other way this morning and went back west across the 407...and then of course some guy spins out in front of me...

He spun because when it got slippery, he lifted...and then hard braked and the car came around on him...good thing I left enough space and distance for me to slow down and see him slide off the road while my rectum and my heart started doing alternating jumping jacks...

tip: if it's slippery, slow down and control your car...don't panic and lift or slam on the brakes hoping the car will magically go where it's supposed to...cuz it won't...

The drive on the DVP however, was surprisingly light...

Jim Kenzie once remarked that it's usually the SUV/AWD/4WD that gets into the first rounds of accidents cuz of their "heroic" believes that their car's ability can somehow redefine the laws of physics localized within their 4-wheels...

The center piece of my front lip broke off on the 401 this morning. Its prolly in a ditch. FML.

I was driving in the fast lane, and then the snow got super high all of a sudden, and at 80km with the center hitting into caused it to get torn off. Sides of my lip are still intact, for now.

I was supposed to drive the RAV4 this morning, but my mom had to use it. So on the first day of winter, my imported lip is gone. What else lies ahead for me. Grrrrrr

I just almost died today on the gardiner because some f**king erykah badu looking bitch decided she felt the need to f**king MERGE into my lane directly beside me. I'm driving along listening to the edge and all of a sudden I notice a piece of s**t cavalier pretty much in the same f**king lane as me!!!!!!!!!!! I brake and she barely. And I do mean barely.. we're talking within f**king INCHES of taking out the entire side of my car. I almost go into a huge fish tail but managed to recover but almost swiped the guard rail but thankfully it opened up into the on ramp from Jarvis so I skidded over for space. At this point I'm shaking. "DID THAT F**KING STUPID BITCH JUST F**KING SEE ME?!?!?!?!" Now my eyes had flames in them and I'm now green with rage. I see her cut off another car and take off up the centre lane. I of course follow her, roll up beside her honking to get her attention. I can see her eyes looking over, but SHE WILL NOT TURN HER HEAD. Jee.. maybe she's just retarded and can't turn her f**King UGLY ASS FACE in the first place considering she nearly killed me....

I regret not following her as she turned towards the DVP. F**K WORK at this point... but damnit, here I am already typing up this story more livid than I've ever been in my entire life. This is why I think there should be a winter driving component to every license. somewhere in the graduated licensing system it has to be put in place. And for those older drivers there should be a test that you have to do before you can renew your license again. I know it sounds like a lot but i think you would see a dramatic reduction in winter accidents. Or if you take your drivers test in winter to start out with then you'd be ok already. British Columbia used to something similar but with manual transmissions. If you took your test in a manual transmission car you could drive any car you wanted, but if you took your test with an automatic you'd have to retest with a manual before you could drive one.

I took my driving exam in a snow storm in 1994. It took use almost 2hrs to get from Richmond Hill to the exam centre near the airport. I got perfect on the exam except for stopping for too long (wtf?!) at an intersection. We did uphill/downhill stops (turn wheel in towards curb) along with parallel parking. The other guy who took the exam with my instructor failed miserably...lol...

I still remember...January 20, 1994...I think it was one of the worst snowstorms of the decade...

it would be and especially with our cluless provincial government almost impossible. I still think that it would be of great benifit in the long run. You might not be able to do it retroactively, but it would be a lot easier to implement as part of graduated licensing. either as a test component or as a course that you have to take

soo true, seen plenty of SUV going faster then normal. Even faster then the max speed sign. As well as WRX Subarus, they think they own the roads. I cant blame Subarus, they are pretty much same weight as other sedans/coups, but AWD. But SUVs cant handle like subarus can.

But I have also witnessed, people driving less then 20km/h, almost rolling. Like seriously, spend extra few bucks and get winters.

i left work at 5:15 am this morning and there was nothing on the QEW at 3rd line. Listen to 680 news, for the traffic, and they come back with "It's tretcherous out there". Then I get around Royal Windsor and bam snow. I says to myself, no biggy snows are on lets go, doin 80. First car, fast lane=40KMH. Waited, *baked a cake*, nothing.........Passed that guy. Down the 403 the plows are out, back to 40.......They get off at Hurontario, Cavalier in front of me GUNS it and slip, slide into the concrete, for what.....dumby. Going around the bend upto the 410 and one Explorer and *giggle* a fooken limo in the ditch, haha limo. Not even north of the 401 yet, another Explorer in the ditch and an Astro van facing backwards. I think the van spun avoiding the Explorer. 5 cars in what 5 KM.......Not one with snow tires........WTF:loco
