So I recently had my alternator swapped (it was dying). Street Performance did the work.

Jimmy can't figure it out.

After warming up the car, after driving and I'm idle, the RPMs will dip down to 500 RPM (visual) and the vibrations become pretty bad and then nothing. Then shivers again, then nothing. The shivers last each time about a second.

I checked the belt-tension marker and it's exactly the same marking/level prior to the alternator swap.

Any ideas?

MTX, 113K km, MTX fluid was replaced at about 60K km.

I did have Jimmy also do an oil change to his Mannheim stock of synthetic oil, same day as alternator swap.

I think it might have to do with the ECU losing all of its settings. For a while after I reset my ECU (ie unplug the battery), my car would completely stall out. I would say let the car idle for a while (~5 min), then give it a a few good revs for the ECU to sort itself out.

wtom i have the exact same problem! I have engine mods and i think it may be due to my CAI being on with cold weather, or my Catback exhaust having less backpressure.

At first i figured it was my purge valve to i replaced it, stopped for a week then start back up. If you find a solution please be sure to tell me, ill do the same.

Thanks for the replies. Can't be ECU, it's now been almost two weeks and I'm sure the ECU would have relearnt everything within the first couple hrs of driving.

Can't be my engine mods; have had them all on since 2004 (CAI filter replaced earlier this year). :)

Well it seems odd both our cars are 2004 and doing the samething. Mine have about 120,000 km.

Do you run your cai all winter?
