This must be a personal isolated problem but for some reason I just can't quite go from 1st to 2nd gear smoothly on my M3. I'm fine going through gears 2-5 but for some reason when I go into 2nd gear and press on the gas, the car jerks. I've driven a M/T Civic for years with no problems but for some reason going from 1st to 2nd gives my issues. The issue is when I'm letting go of the clutch and giving gas it always seems to jerk only in this gear. Is it something with the M3? Do I need to sync the clutch/gas differently between these 2 gears?
It boggles my mind... suggestions?

Shift around 3k rpm and get an upgraded rear mm.

going from 1st to second has the highest tendency to jerk.
have u tried feathering the pedal more to see if that helps?

Sorry what does feathering the pedal mean? (sorry I'm a relatively new MT driver)

when u shift to second nd let go of clutch completely then hit gas it jerks a bit.
feathering is giving gas when ur almost completely releasing clutch (balancing pedals)

+1 on the feathering and mm will definitely help, balance the pedals more. Like it was said, this is the hardest shift to get smooth. Find what works for you...

Rear motor mount? Seen everyone talking about that, but what exactly does it do for the car. Since its stiffer id assume less power soak from engine movement. But wouldnt it make your idle very poor/rough?
