My 2007 Mazda 3 will not start. I can hear the starter relay in the relay box energizing - but no current draw to the starter. If I put on the headlights they do not dim at all when the trying to start. The bumper to bumper warranty has expired, will have to have it towed to dealer under roadside assistance. Is the starter or starter circuit covered under the powertrain warranty.
Thanks

The starter will most likely not be covered under powertrain.
so it def not your battery that causing startup issues?

I had a starter issue recently. There is a TSB on it about the connection from the starter to the starter switch being corroded or faulty. You just have to replace that.
The mechanic I took it to specifically told me NOT to hammer it as it could damage newer magnetic starters. Maybe a rubber mallet?

I was thinking the same thing, I had that happen to me once on my '05 GT. Took it to the dealers, they could not find anything wrong, I havent jhad an issue since.
