They'll likely be just clear ones like you get in the theatre. It would be fun for the first few minutes then get annoying having to wear the stupid glasses. Watching 3D movies is already annoying enough as it is... but a 3D channel? I get the feeling it won't last very long.

espn will be only in the us for now, the discovery channel one will be all across north america.

As for the glasses there's this company in canada that actually has a 3d screen that you do not need to wear glasses for. The technology works well but it's expensive now and i think the technical issues now are viewing angle and they only work at certain distances. It's been a while since I've seen anything about them but I'll edit in the link once i find it
