personally, this is the most interesting political topic at the moment...beside the proroguing of Parliament, this hits close to home for most of us...so:

Rocco Rossi - liberal political heavy weight, don't know him well

Giorgio Mammoliti - don't know him well either, but he's anti-GTA/big city, anti-cultural spending, pro-casino and a taxed red-light district...not particularly what I'd like to see in GTA proper, but this guys sounds fun...

Adam Giambrone - chair of TTC, like a second Miller, young (good or bad) but not the youngest (Windsor elected a 29 yr-old 5 yrs ago), prolly anti-car like Miller

Definately a Miller like clone, will be anti car. He is a very left leaning socialist type of character. He is the concilor for my area and I've been to a couple of community meetings with him. He's also responsible for having changed directions of streets so that you can not take a side street from one major street to another street, took more than 6 months to get 2 potholes filled that no word of a lie were 4 ft across and at least 18" deep! and reducing the width of streets in the neighborhood so that now that it's winter with the snow piled up on one side and cars parked on the other you can barely squeeze by! The thing is he is a clean cut young man, that is charming if you talk to him, but his ideas are right out of the Miller juice box!

From what I've been able to figure out, Rocco Rossi is a fiscal conservative, and liberal thinker. Which basically means that he'll be damn sure to make sure that the money is being used wisely, and that he won't be so uptight about what we can and can't do with the money. People have been saying he's would be the most John Tory like candidate in his administration

I personally if I still lived in Toronto, I'd vote for Sarah Thompson simply due to the fact that she wants to extend the subway vs. do the dumb light rail service (which I am not sure if your aware...could make your trip potentially look like a bus, subway, then light rail? are you kidding me?)

the truth is...politicians are just human...and sometimes more human than most of us since they actually want to do something about certain things...

I think the time will come when we realize that for us to expect our politicians to be saints on earth is naive and stupid...ppl in power are SUPPOSED to be good, but there shouldn't be blind faith...and when they come out to be more human than not, why act surprised?

Thanks to the very groundbreaking investigative reporting by the Toronto Star, Torontonians awoke today to a real life front page political scandal! It turns out, according to the trustworthy and credible newspaper, city councillor, mayoral candidate and chair of the TTC Adam Giambrone had cheated on his girlfriend.

Kristen Lucas the jilted 19-year lover claims to have maintained a sexual relationship with the councillor for over a year; she claims she was unceremoniously dumped when Mr. Giambrone announced his candidacy of Mayor and required his real life girlfriend as a political prop. In a classy move, Lucas released several private text messages to the Toronto Star to verify the relationship. The Star however chose to print only a select few. We at the Canadian Enthusiast have been lucky enough to obtain, from an unnamed source, several of the unprinted text messages sent by Mr. Giambrone to Ms. Lucas. Those texts are awesome...that being said, there were still people on the radio saying they woulda voted for him for the "great" job he did with the TTC...SERIOUS. This is Toronto. Like people would vote Smitherman cause he gay but moreso cause he liberal...Voters are not really educated. Smitherman is the reason I have to pay to get my eyes checked, ehealth, list goes on...

If that Sarah lady isnt a frontrunner, whoever says they gonna stop with this transit city or modify it so its subway extensions, thats who should be mayor...that and someone who is NOT union friendly.
