Hey guys, I got a LED signal mirrors from thespeedline.us. I installed my mirrors on the car, but cant figure out the wiring out.
here are some pictures of what i have left to work with:

I believe this cable are fuses inside. I have 2 of these. Where to install??and to what? what will it do.?

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/385/01072010095.th.jpg (http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/385/01072010095.jpg)
Then I have 2 long cables that are both black and red about 6-7 feet.

this is the other side of the red/black connector

These are i beleive called T-connectors . Not sure what to do with this either.

This is the inside of my mirror , as the mirror is already installed and i have both black and red cable out inside the car.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2497/01072010101.th.jpg (http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2497/01072010101.jpg)
Heres another view.

From what i have been reading, i will connect the black /red cable to my side markers for easier setup.
As for the fuses, i was thinking of connecting them with the red cable since the fuse is a red cable, but im not sure?

Can anyone help, thanks,

Michael

You might want to see if RedRaptor can help you out if he doesn't chime in here. McGyver would also be a good choice for the installation.

The fuses are optional. If you want to use them, you can just use them on the RED/postive wire.

Yes you can tap into side markers and hide the wires nicely. Or you can run them to your PJB (talk to NoisyCrow for details).

I was lazy so I just tapped into the side markers. There is no way I'd touch the PJB if I didn't have to, but thats just me.

me and a few others installed the speedline mirrors last year.. Noisycrow might chime in on the specifics..

you have run ur wires through the mirror housing already, take the wires and run them down the rubber hosing in the door, you want to get the wires around around the rubber gromet between the door and the fender..

Pull out ur sidemarker and carefully fish the wires from the mirror through the fender/sidemarker hole..

Once the wires are fished, you use the T tap connectors to tap the power/ground for the sidemarkers.. Your mirrors are now wired. Just re install ur side markers..

the fuse connect one end to the red wire coming from the mirros, and theother side of the wire will go to the sidemarker wires that u will tap for power... Fuse lies between ur power lines.

I think m3f had a tutorial on wiring up mirrors.. I,ll have a look to ssee if i can find it

I ran the wires for my mirrors to the PJB. Involves removing the door panels and underdash panels, then running the wires through the door connectors. Didn't use fuses... OEM version doesn't use them anyway. I installed puddle lights at the same time,so I ran two sets of wires from each mirror to the PJB. I ran the entire length of the wires through ¼" PVC tubing to protect the wires from sharp edges, chafing, etc.

Check out www.mazda3forums.com (http://www.mazda3forums.com) and search for "LED Mirror puddle". There are some good pics of how to run wires from the mirror to the PJB.

Easy way to do this (not as clean though): sneak the wires down along the edge of the door panel, and then into the open end of the front panel and connect to the side markers. If you do this make sure the wires are not pinched, pulled or rubbing. If you have LED sidemarkers you can tap into their pigtails rather than the wiring harness, and can remove the LED sidemarkers from the car while you make the connections. Run the wires from the sidemarkers up to the mirrors and make the final connections under the sails. Polarity matters. Use temporary connectons at the sails to check things work, then do a proper splice. Note that the T-taps you pictured are not weather tight. If you use them to connect at the side markers I would suggest filling them with RTV silicone before you close the little flaps on them.

errr.. isn't this suppose to attach to the led mirror (quick release). The other is tapped in to your signals with the T-connector.

okk, so i completed the installation and its great and easy.

Ran wires just like NOISY CROW SAID, but instead of using t-tap connectors, i connect them according to color by sliding a bit of the wire sleeve off and connect it togther , and then taping with electrical tape.I did not use the fuses that came with it, plus more work, lol and they are working awsome.

The odd connnection peice, I took it off, because its cliped on, you relase it and connect that clip to the LED mirrors and then connect it to the extended wire, run the wire to side marker and thats it

Very Clean install, cannot see any wires loose or sticking out

:) I will post pics soon

Outside inside the garage, not turn on

inside the car where the mirror piece is, you can see a black wire running down with the other wires inside my door panel.

This is the rubber sealing thing where the cables go inside. As you see, theres no signs of any wiring sticking out or anything.I ran the wire after a little crack to the LED sign marker

One side powered up

Both side powered up :)

*Note that, i put the emergency lights on to show that there both working. WHen you signal left or right the lights sync with your led/signal lights . They are not wired to stay lit.

oo power folding, that would be sick.. Didn't Dan have that on his old 3?

time for a gb maybe?

thanks, took me 4-5 hours first side, and then the second side took me 1.5 hours, lol

Nice and clean...they look slimmer than my OEM ones. I am tempted to get blue convex mirrors with LED signals though I don't know if I'm out of a place to tap since my OEM already tabs directly into the PJB.

Hey I bought these for my 3, Dan had run the wiring for me and also for puddle lights which I had put in afterwards. It's too bad the car got written off now though, these LED signals looked great.
