I really think the current gen mustangs are a HUGE improvement over the previous gen. Back to its roots.

for sure... 1968 was the last year I wanted one, now I find myself drooling over the 2011, this concept, the gt500/super snake and roush models :headbang

I had a 67 back in the day and I have to say that the 2011 is hot!

My son's basketball coach has a Roush. Almost 550hp, according to him. Looked pretty sweet.

The GT350 wasn't necessarily the "lesser model", it was the small block model (289 HiPo), the GT500 was the big block (428SCJ). Different engine for a different racing class back in the day!
For instance the Boss429 was the monster, 429 cu inshes of powa! But the "lesser" Boss302 was quicker in the 1/4 mile, which was the bragging rights in the 60's.
Why its more expensive... thats another question!! I haven't looked into the details on it yet though, but I'm sure there will be a reason. Oh, and remember folks, Ford always underrates their HP number anymore... :P

I sold my '95 5.0 for a speed3 in August of last year. Maybe when i'm done with the speed i'll have to go back!

Just reading the road and track article, very glad to see they've got back to 5.0L up from the 4.6. What got ME hooked on fast cars when I was a kid were the 80's series 5.0L mustangs, and the sound of those engines through flowmasters... I remember being 14 or so and someone taking me for a ride in a tricked out 5.0, the feeling of that thing pushing you back in your seat was unreal.

Only thing I don't like about the 2011 is the centre-exit exhaust.
