Lately unless I slowly shift into third with the rpms low the tranny fights third gear, there is no grinding or noises, just doesn't like it. Anyone with ideas?

are you a second owner? Sounds like 3rd gear is pooched. Not to be captain obvious :/
Maybe try changing your tranny fluid and see what comes with the oil.

Was it warrantied when you got everything fixed?

The funny thing is there is no grinding or anything when shifting. Goes in no problem, just sometimes pops out. Ok so anyone have a low mileage tranny for sale 2litre car

Yup that sounds exactly like what I had. You're out of warranty?

Sounds like a syncro is worn out. When worn out they can be worn out in two different ways. Either the teeth that sync with the gear/clutch hub are worn out(causing the grind) or the "finger print" of the syncro is worn out, causing centrifugal force to release the "grip" on the gear.
Find yourself a good shop to do the rebuild. Some Mazda dealers have "specialized" tranny rebuilders. Ask around and find a good tech who knows the tranny's well

Mine was completely warranted, but they warn you if they find metal particles in your tranny fluid then it won't be.
