So i recently found out that hard jerk when i start my car occasionally is due to my passenger motor mount being broken.
What I want to know is that, is the passenger motor mount covered under warrently if I am still under the 5 year/100k km engine and drive train warrenty?
If not, what options do I have besides getting another OEM from Joe? and is it worth getting the aftermarket passenger mounts instead of the OEM one?

I'm pretty sure there is a tsb for the mm so you might be in a position to ask for it to be replaced under warranty. As for options on that mount, AWR, Street Unit, and Topspeed are available. You could also go with another factory part and beef up that side of the engine with an ETD or the PTP Kicker.

I have noticed an update in design of the rubber used. That was probably over a year ago

I had mine replaced under warranty some time ago and I was told the part had been updated at that time. This must have been back in 2006 / 2007 ish.

Yea, Cosmo told me that it should be covered under warrenty and there might be a TSB for it. Would anyone be able to find the TSB for me? or guide me in the direction I should look?
If it is covered under warrenty, i would probably go OEM for now and possibly like Jason mentioned add a ETD if anything in the future for extra support

I don't think that's really "powertrain" warranty related. You might have a hard time selling it to them. Hopefully you can get it covered though Ben.

As far as I understand...it is covered under your powertrain 5y/100k.
The mount constuction was updated in 2007.
I have not seen any 2007-present failures and by that I mean the updated mounts from when ever they showed up to now.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but I found this thread on Monday when my motor mount went as this information helped me.
I noticed oil on my driveway on Sunday night. I checked my oil level and everything seemed fine. Then I checked around to see where the oil was coming from and I could see it was by the passenger motor mount. I took it to Jimmy since he did my oil change about a month ago and he confirmed it to be a defective motor mount.
Took it to Agincourt Mazda this morning and they replaced it under the 5 years powertrain warranty. I'm not sure which passenger motor mount was in my original car but I noticed they replaced it with BCM4 which is the upgraded version from what I understand.
Thanks!

Mine is a 2008 so for other members, watch for it and get it replaced before the 5 years is up.

Just a general inquiry about engine mounts - I took my car in yesterday and replaced my brake pads and rotors. The mechanic told me that my rear engine mount is starting to go on me so my engine has a little freelance movement while I drive.
Is this something that should be given attention immediately? I have a warranty on the car (full coverage) and I'm wondering if it covers engine mounts (i fail to see how it could be anything considered regular "wear n' tear"), because I hear the OEM engine mounts on MZ3's are terrible to begin with. It happened to me before and they covered it, but I'm wondering if anyone has any input/suggestions.
Thanks!

Yeah - Jimmy @ SP told me something like $20-25 For labor. I didn't believe him at the time - then I saw him change one on somebody else's car in 10 mins. it takes me longer to pump gas

Okay nice, I'll keep that in mind! I'm going to call Gyro tomorrow because they covered my mount last time. See what they can do for me :) If not, Jimmy to the rescue!
