Do you need the spin-on conversion to setup a proper oil pressure gauge? or can you use the existing location either replacing or putting in a "T" to have two senders.
Will removing the factory sender screw the computer up?

Yes, I tried search!!!

some people install a sandwich adapter so they can hook up an oil pressure gauge... this requires the spinon conversion... but the other way to do it is to just get a tee adapter and install it to where the stock oil sending unit is... you will need to run both the stock sending unit and the one for your gauge, or your oil pressure light will be on all the time

yup you can do it either way, either by getting spin on filter/sandwich plate (people say this is easier) or going to T. Both will work and as along as you plug factory sensor back in you'll be fine. I am clearly looking into this too as if I could find out the size and fittings needed I would do the T as my local dealer wouldn't notice that as much as if I showed up with a spin on filter.

I am told the stock sensor is 1/4 NPT
Usually aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauges are 1/8 NPT

Yes, I was wondering about that too. 1/4 or 1/8 ?

PM JohnyGT; he installed his with the T connection. I pretty sure the fitting sizes can be found on m3f if no one here posts the info (I was looking into it some time ago).

I pm'd JohnnyGT twice about this same issue. I've also inquired about this in my thread on triple gauge install.

I guess the T is a trade secret as I have yet to receive a reply either way.

I tried messing around with fabbing up a T from various fittings, but that's a waste of time.

The best bet is to go with a spin-on oil filter and sandwich plate. I have everything ready to go for my triple gauge install over the March break.

So I did some more looking into this and pm a few ppl and one gave me a parts list he order to do it and gave me a few pics also. So here is his reply and pics

I had to order stuff from both summit racing and Jegs.

From summit racing:
AER-FBM2032 -4 AN TO 1/4NPT 90DEG ADAPTER 1
AER-FBM2723 STEEL 1/4 FEMALE PIPE/#4 FLARE 1
ATM-3227 PRESSURE LINE 1
EAR-100201ERL GAGE ADAPTER -4 M TO -4 FEMALE
GTR-65071 HEATER HOSE 1
EAR-922144ERL 90 -4 MALE TO 1/4 NPT SWIVEL 1
LCT-37615 PST THREAD SEALANT STICK 1

From Jegs:
555-100460 1/4 X1/8 NPT REDUCER BUSH Qty 4

Some of it wasn't needed, though I can't remember what. For example though I ordered the swivel after I got the rest of the stuff becaus the 90Deg adapter wouldn't fit (interference with engine components while trying to screw it in.)

I'll probably be ordering and trying this soon so ill let everyone know .. or if someone tries it first post your results

JohnyGT said he rigged up his own using the spin-on filter conversion. This looks like another option.
Good find BoOdOg.
