HI everyone!!Sup~ My name is Ronald and I just got a 2004 Mazda 3 GT last Monday. It's red and manual, my first car Yahhhhh. Also it gave me my first time manual stick drive experience. I parked the car at my frd's place uptown for the first 3 night and everyday i took subway and bus to his place to practice. Learning stick is a pain especially I stalled 10 times in a row at a stop sign lol. Thur night I drove my baby home ( I live downtown) and I have been driving at rush hours fri and sat. Right now I rarely stall my car (may be once in while when I am thinking about something else). Still a lot to learn and I am driving so slow......my frds refer as grandma driving lol. I will post some pix later on and more HQ pix after I wash my car.
PS: I hear some abnormal noise coming from the engine part, dunno what it is. Plz help bro & sis

Welcome to the forum!
I only learn how to drive a manual tranny couple years ago and as horto mentioned, you should be doing fine after two weeks. Driving in traffic for an hour at a time also helped me get the practice I needed!

I used to stall all the time, until I was shown how to get into 1st without touching the gas, then how to do that on a hill...afterthat, no fear of rollback or stalling.

really?? I thought by law they have to get a confirmation from the insurance before they release the car. They also mentioned that before I went there but it was a bit rush and my insurance stuff wasn't ready at that time. They didn;t bother to ask for it and let me to drive the car out without insurance.

Welcome to TM3, throwing yourself in head first is actually a pretty good way to learn stick, its forces you to make mistakes and learn from them. Goodluck with the new Ride!
