Well im an idiot. Left a can of orange pop in my car, it exploded. I didnt notice it for about a week because its on the passenger side, and far enough back it doesnt catch my view unless my seats reclined.

I started trying to rub it out (please.. no jokes :P) with my finger + spit, its getting the pop off but its making an awful mess of the fabric. It's turning somewhat dark and looks completely out of place with the rest of the fabric. I stopped after a couple marks. Not really sure how I should proceed.

Is there a proper way to remove the rest of the pop without messing up the fabric anymore? Is there anyway to reverse the "damage" thats already been done?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

You could try those upholstery cleaners that's in an aerosol can with a brush head on it.

I would go with a steam clean. Get it done before the Ants come out.

I'm sorry I had to laugh when I read your post. Good thing it happened now in winter I guess. The summer heat would just bake that in. As mentioned above, I think a good steam clean from a detail shop my work.

Try Folex to soak it through and finish it off with upholstery shampoo w/ wet vac.

We were moving houses last year, in December, and I didn't know my wife had placed a case of some cranberry pop on the passenger seat of the car, which at the time was a 2000 protege we barely used. The car got left for a while, and when I returned to it, there was red slush everywhere. I'd say 6 cans exploded -- it looked like the car in pulp fiction after Travolta mistakenly blows some guys brains out, only there was no Harvey Keitel around to clean up my mess. Instead, I blotted and dabbed as best I could with a microfiber cloth and some warm water, and then used prosolve to get the rest out. In the end, the car came clean.

if it was the summer, I'd just take my whole back seat out and power wash it with the hose...

when i bought the car i had ALOT of tar stains in the headliner (the previous owner was probably a heavy smoker)... i used some" oxy power out" carpet cleaner by turtle wax and a steam cleaner and it got rid of everything
