I am thinking of buying an intake for my car and would like to test a drive a MS3 with just an intake before I purchase one. Is there any owner out there who would do me the pleasure of letting me drive your car? I am not looking to see the difference in power, what I am interested in is whether or not the power becomes more linear. An intake and TIP would be just as good if not better.

I am sure I will but I just want to make sure I buy the right one. I will probably do the TIP at the same time but I have heard problems with over boost with the TIP though.

power delivery doesn't become more linear with just the intake. you'll have to feather the throttle more.
to make the power come on more linearly, invest in an AccessPort and smooth out the throttle by applying #2 in this thread (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?33921-MS3-ATR-Smooth-Throttle-Fixes-(May-23-2009))

I loved the intake on my speed3, I am taking it off soon though to sell it. It is the mazdaspeed one painted black with the air straightener and 2 filters. PM me if you are interested. Thing I loved the most is the sound, and I got better gas mileage :D

I have a COBB SRI and love it. It makes the car sound pretty nice and you will hear the OEM blow off valve loud and clear after it is installed. Honestly, I don't think intakes do much at all for performance on its own. But COBB does have dynos for before and after. Look on the other forums out there in the FS threads..you'll find some COBB SRI for sale from people who are parting out at a good price.
The trick is getting them to send to Canada. If you want to buy new, you can buy from streetunit.com....they ship by air so you wont pay brokerage fees but you will pay 12-18% tax and duty i think.

Or you could just buy the COBB SF from Touge Tuning who are a sponsor on this site. Very, very good prices. Send him a PM and let him know you are a TM3 member if you want a better price than what is listed on their website.
