For the past couple of months my Samsung 46" has had a white pixel show up at the bottom of my screen. It only happens when I use it for cable tv (rogers) I have a HD box. It shows up after about 10 mins when the lcd is turned on. If I change channels it goes way but comes back after a few minutes later. I never shows up when i have my PC/xbox/dvd running. Has anyone had this problem?

It's not entirely uncommon for an LCD to have several stuck/dead pixels. This article is a good start:

The problem is that most companies have a policy that they won't replace the screen unless it has more than 5-7 pixels affected. This is where it becomes annoying.

if you get a warranty from futureshop or best buy they replace it after 1 pixel.

^^^ Their warranties usually cost something rediculous like 25-30% of the purchase price, and my god, they will make you jump through burning hoops wearing gas-soaked undies to claim the coverage.

5 years of my life wasted in that place shows me what they do to the poor suckers that actually go for that :P

I had a Flatscreen 1080p tv replaced at futureshop due to 1 dead pixel heh heh...extended warranty has worked okay so far! They even cover for surges!

I should plug my TV into a step up transformer with a suicide cord....that'll fix it a month before the end of the extended warranty hahaha.

not true. My parents' TV died and it was an old Tube TV that was no longer made. They gave us 90% of the original price towards a new LCD. Took about 2 hours total and 2 visits to the store.
