We have been looking for a little while now to trade in the wife's Mazda 3 for a compact SUV.

We looked hard at a Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute and Suzuki Grand Vitara. On the weekend we stopped at Honda and ended up buying a 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L. Honda had 0.9% financing on which I don't think I have ever seen before and she really liked it. We picked it up last night, I like it. Not as powerfull as the others mentioned but hopefully it will save us on gas.

0.9% is ridiculously cheap

congrats...any reason you didn't look at the 2010 Toyota Rav4....apart from the whole stuck accelerator and bad brake pedal recall thing?

We looked very briefly at the RAV but in the end it came down to financing. The Toyota would have been nice for sure, but on the pricey side once you get into the same options as the Honda although it had a V6. My thoughts were that we really couldn't go wrong with the Honda anyways.

My wife really liked the idea of owning a new Honda as well, she had always heard great things about the brand from anyone she talked to.

Her Mazda was an 08.5.

Honda is a great automobile...ran over my wife with a Honda.
JK

You definitely can't go wrong with a Honda.
Was just curious about the Rav4 because I just started thinkin about trading in my 97 4Runner Limited for a 2010 Rav4...just haven't really done the research on the Rav yet.

Congrats on the new car, man.
Any plans for some upgrades on it? LOL!

Thanks for the comments guys.

No mods planned...lol. Just looking for a winter tire package for next winter. The dealer said he would give me cost on a trailer hitch, remote start and winter tire package. But the package from Honda, even at their cost with TPMS in 17" was $1250.

I'm seeing if I can find anything a little cheaper.

This was in the latest Consumer Reports' Annual Auto edition for 09 models. The CR-V recieved a perfect reliability score.

These charts were also there. I beleive they were published before Toyota's recent happenings...lol. Were's Mazda?

when my sister bought her mazda protege brand new in 2004 she got 0% financing for 5 years. i thought that was insane.

Mazda has really great incentives. They're running the same 0% financing program this month as well.

This is what people used to say about Honda 20+ years ago too. Times change. Hyundai has been making very good cars for quite some time now, but consumer perception takes a while to change.

Just like how Toyota stopped building the best car in the world 10 years ago but the perception hasn't started changing until now

True dat too. :)

Then again, I've never been a Toyota fan. They build such incredibly boring shite aside from some top end Lexus vehicles and even then, they really aren't my thing.

To stay on topic...congrats on the new ride for the wife Barry. Good choice guy.

The Rav4 still has that stupid spare wheel on the back hatch door. They do have a Sport Rav4 with no spare wheel on the back hatch door. but starts at $34,000 ouch, forget it.
2 sweet looking ladies by the way, you lucky so and so...congrats on the Honda.
