View Full Version : Ebay Situation - Need help. *Rant
So I'll cut this down to a short story.
I bought a macbook cover shell, once I purchased it, I notced all the way down at the bottom that it wouldn't fit the model. i was like " oh sh*t ". So I messaged the seller right away stating its the wrong one, and I need the correct one. Now, This was coming from Hong Kong, It was 2 weeks, and they finally responded, saying they had Chineese New Year, They stated once I get the package to just bring it to your local post office, pay for shipping and once they recieve it, they'll give me the correct one. and give me the money back for the shipping.
So, Once I recieved the item, I didn't even open it and brought it straight back, I seen no point in opening an item that is the wrong one. So I told her I payed $17 for Shipping. She keeps telling me she never got the damn thing, I said to her numerous of times, relax, you will get it. So she finally recieved it two days ago, and now she's complaining that it's my fault that the cover case is warped! And starts telling me off and saying how I should of opened the package. I told her, it could of simply been damaged coming here or going there. She told me once I got the item to return it, I do so, and now this!
She's telling me I'm running away from this shrinkage, even though I already paid for the damn thing, and payed $17 CAD ontop for shipping. I have never experienced anything like this before, Ignore me for my ignorance by Chineese New Year, they're off for two weeks? Wtf?. This battle has been going on for over a month now, and I'm starting to annoyed by it.
How the heck can I warp an item, which isn't even mine?
I told her, I was at fault for ordering the wrong item, but maybe if they didn't go on chineese new year for two weeks, they would of stopped the cancellation the next day, or better yet send me the right one.
She tells me, why I didn't open the item, and if the item was damaged for them to compensate me for it. Well, I already told her it was the wrong one, so it didn't make sense of any compensation, if it was already discussed before.
What if she's the one who sent me a broken item, and now putting the blame on me?
I can't say who did it, because I didn't open the package, and i didn't open it for a reason.
Soo... yeah, I don't know what to do here.
Any suggestions?

so they were on chinese holiday vacation for two weeks? i guess its only vacation away from the email/computer and not the packaging and shipping? come on. lame excuse.
they should have corrected it before it even got shipped, especially if you emailed them right after you bought it.
open a dispute with paypal. you will get your money back but not for shipping, unfortunately.
hope you learned two things here:
1. dont by from china/hong kong etc
2. make sure you know what your getting before ordering.

I ordered stuff from Chinese last month and yes there is huge back orders and deliveries because of chinese newyear, and the moon festival.
Like a month of fighting with her. Cut the crap.

I dont think filing a paypal dispute will do anything unless she says she will NOT send you a new one OR return your money. It sucks that you ordered the wrong one. DEPENDING on the cost and how quickly you wanted the shell, you coulda/shoulda tried selling it locally and then ordering the correct one. It can be perfectly fine and she is saying its warped.
Just tell her you didnt open it, you dont know who did it (possibly damaged during shipping if it was not wrapped/handled properly), and do not want your money back and would just like the correct shell and are sorry for the damage as you just sent it back without opening it.
Tell her you want the correct one and are sorry for the damage as you didnt even open it and you will leave positive feedback. The positive feedback thing sometimes works as majority of their customers are from north america and you dont want to have to write "IF FROM NORTH AMERICA, DO NOT BUY FROM" as your feedback.
Just try to be polite about it and spoon feed her the crap she wants to hear.

open a dispute on ebay + paypal
you will get your $$ back, buyers ALWAYS do.
tell her to refund you the shipping or you'll put in negative feedback.
or ask her to send a new one over.
She sent me an email, saying that i only care about my money, which isn't even the case, she said it's my fault because I bought the wrong item.
in her words and I state
" You pay. We deliver. You bought wrong item. Your fault "
Forget her stuff, I'm going to send a negative feed back.
She wants to play smart ass. So be it.

give her neg. feedback and open a dispute in paypal.
trust me, you will win it, especially because the buyer is from china lol
i bought this item for $200 +, i got the stuff and i got my $$ back too.
it was free shipping too lol sooo yeah, ebay is unfair for sellers, its always a buyer's advantage for ebay.
when buying it off ebay did you not look at their feedback?? is it good or bad??
When ever i buy anything off ebay i alway check out their feedback..if i see alot of negative i don't bother buying from them..if they got good feedback then i buy
What was their feedback like??

if she a power seller, she prob takes negative feedback but due to the mass amount of sales, the ratio would be like 99 % good vs. 1% bad which in that case she nor most buyers dont end up caring as much. At least that is what I notice.

98.9%
But everytime i kept talking about feedback, she would change the topic and be all nice.
I'm done with her crap.

HAHAHA, that is brutal. I've had emails like those with broken English before. I would just ask for a refund. If they don't give it to you, make a paypal claim. I would have bought it from here http://www.macrecycling.com. I've never had any problems from these guys.

As others have already suggested open a dispute with paypal. After all the BS if you do end up getting your $ appreciate the fact that you got your $ back and leave them a FAIR feedback. I wouldn't leave a negative feedback just because you requested the wrong thing (that's clearly you're bad not hers/his) and secondly you got your $ back so that's all that matters!
Crap I hate on eBay:
1. Poor communication skills
2. Complete knock-offs
3. Shipping overseas take a month to arrive
I've learned the exact way you're doing it and won't buy unless there in Canada/US. No exceptions. Hopefully it gets worked out cause it's a drag to be dealing with this kinda crap!

Well like I said, I did admit that I was at fault for ordering the wrong item, but yet they weren't able to reply due to chineese new year for 2 weeks?. Let alone, how can one warp an item? I understand what you're saying. But when the seller is telling me once i recieve the item to shit it back, don't complain after that it's damaged and try to turn the tables on me. I tried being reasonable with them, they just keep saying how I'm at fault and switching their words around.
I do argee with you and next time I'll know for sure to stick with Canada/USA.
