This may be repetitive so sorry in advance ...

Every where I read on the forum about short shifter bushings (especially for the TWM short shifter), they say to grab a set to go with everything to be gone with the rubber ones that come with the car.

My TWM short shifter came with the aluminum bushings in the box to replace to I swapped out the rubber ones with these on initial install. That means I don't have to buy them seperately correct?

Only reason I ask, is that the TWM SS doesn't specify that it comes with the bushings ... unless I'm just a retard and didn't read the fine print.

Please advise anybody? Thanks.

I can't speak for TWM, but if you've replaced the stock bushings with ones that came with the shifter (maybe there was a combo deal on), then I'm pretty sure you're ok.

When I picked up the Mazdaspeed short-shifter, it came with aluminium bushings. I saw no reason to keep the stock ones at all.

Included in kit:
- Mazda 3 Short Shifter
- 4 Aluminum Bushings
- 4 Washers
- Misc. hardware
- Installation manual

The bushing kit IS included when you buy a short shift kit from TWM. TWM does give you the option to buy the bushings only though.

Is anyone having problems with their TWM short shifter? On another site they are complaining that the SS rubs and damages OEM parts. Anyone having these problems?

Only thing I can think of is the boot being all crumpled up and rubbing against itself. The TWM one should be fine as it is bent towards the driver side. I have the Tech Racing one, and it's straight, so it is more likely to rub. I just replaced the boot with one designed for a SS, and all good now.
