Hey guys,

I got one of the older (fat) 40GB PS3's and today as I was playing God of War 3 on it, the game completely froze and I had to manually shut the console off. When I turned it back on the game wasn't showing up and neither are any other type of disks I put in. DVD/CD/BD nothing shows up. I think the laser in the drive got misaligned or just flat out died.

Anyone know a place or someone that can fix it? I bought it back in '07 so servicing with Sony will not be an option. Would Pacific Mall have a store that does that sort of thing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, would be greatly appreciated. Everything works except nothing is showing up when you insert a disk. I can't hear the laser track or anything.

Is there anyone of you willing to take it to my place so i can check it out what is really causing the problem, beside you got nothing to lose since it's already broken ......... :chuckle

Check out Gamerrama at Yonge & Eglinton. Two of my friends have had PS3's with bad drives repaired there. Good service, fair prices, and quick turn around.
