there is a spring tour this year, similar to the fall tour, wondering if anyone from here is going to go
http://springtour.c7performance.com/default.html
"For those who are not aware the Spring Tour is similar to the Fall Tour but was brought about due to the huge interest from the participants of previous Tours. Seeing as the Fall Tours now take place in the East end of the city, it was only fair to have the Spring Tour happen in the West end of the city.
Spring Tour will be happening on Saturday May 1 2010.
Starting point will be at AMC lot Oakville (QEW and Winston Churchill). First group to roll out at 10am. End point will be at Cayuga Speedway, and for those interested we do have the option to use the track.
For those looking to participate in the track stuff (this is optional) below is breakdown of costs:
Pre-registration (deadline April 30 at 5pm)
Road Course $70
Dragway $20
Both Tracks $90
Costs day of Spring Tour
Road Course $ 110
Dragway $30
Both Tracks $120 "

WTF!!!! im soo down for this. i enjoyed the cruise in the fall and this spring one is a bonus. nice find there buddy.
ill be hitting up the 1320 for sure, but pending the road course.
Impressive
03-25-2010, 03:57 PM
I'm definitely interested in maybe getting some track time (for the road course anyways) but May 1st is conflicting, seeing as that's the same day as the Marijuana March (i believe).
Sounds like a great deal though...I've never been to a track and wouldn't mind giving it a shot if we can get more meets like this one up I'd totally be game.

i would hope it would be for the day. $20 for a 14sec pass lol thats expensive.
i want to run the road course but not sure if they let 1 person on the track at a time.
the fall tour was 2$ for a couple laps around the circle. 1/4 mile is different.
Edit: C7 has the track booked that day. im Toronto MotorSports Park (Cayuga) site now and if im guessing correctly 20$ gets u on the track until the track closes. well thats how there test/tune days go lol

im probably gonna make it to this one. $20 is an expensive price to pay to lose to some faster car. $70 to track is just out of my league. I wish i had more money. I really want to track my car but i guess the cruise is good enough

This is awesome. As long as I'm not moving all my crap to Belleville that day I am 100% in. Can anyone confirm how the track usage will work? I definitely want to hit the track but I don't want to pay $70/$90 for a small portion of time.

im not sure i will be doing the track portion either for those prices. the cruise should be fun enough :). but dont forget to sign up on the site if you want to come, there is already 70 cars signed up from other clubs to come...lets get a strong TM3 presence going!!

i Just emailed colin@c7 and this was his responce to the track prices/
Hi Joe,
The prices are for access to the tracks. There are no set number of passes or laps. So go until your wheels fall off or they close for the night haha!
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to having you out at the meet!
Thanks,
Colin
so the prices are to get on and run for how long you like.which is perfect. i just emailed him back seeing how the road course work with letting a bunch of people on the track or 1 at a time.

$20 if u pre register, and 30$ if u pay day of. yes its 30$ for the whole day, until either ur tired, or run out of gass, or the track closes.
the road course is the same thing. u pay get asscess to the track do a couple laps a couple other cars. there is no passing other than on the straightaway and u have to signal the pass. than i guess u wait in line to go back on the track.

I dont think they will be 2 bad. you'll do your 15second run than line back up. maby u wait 15-20min before the next run. unless of course some blows something or leaks down the track or worse breakes down halfway through.
it shoudnt be too bad.
i gotta learn to launch my car. i can roll through the gears perfect just havnt tried launchin it yet.

well i guess im out... 175 cars?!?! I am pretty sure most will do the 1320 soooooo i don't really want to pay $20 to do one pass, would have been sweet though. I may still come for the cruise though. Have to wait for another day to go to the track, even test/tune days are about 50ish or less cars when I have gone in the past.

It used to be 12 seconds and under needs a helmet, but there is NO WAY any of our cars will do that without serious amounts of $$ dropped in to it. Needless to say, I will sign[up for the cruise, but still 50/50 on the track because of the high numbers in attendance!

not sure how many people have pre-registered to go on the 1/4 mile track, but I just called and asked the lady "how many people are signed up, because I don't want to have 200 people there and waiting an hour between each pass??" and she said "I have no idea, but it is continuous and for the price it's well worth it, we are also open to the public as well" which I dared not ask anything more. Her tone was quite "snarky" when I asked though, as if I was an idiot to ask such a question, but let me make this clear. 1 minute for each car (approx.) and even 100 cars would be over an HOUR wait in line! I am all for going to the track, but for $20 to sit in a huge line for a couple hours to make a few passes, not worth it for me! Plus the track IS open to the public, which I was unaware of (thought C7 booked it off, but guess not, unless that lady was retarded) hahahaha.... In any event, will be there on the cruise for sure, pending any weather problems :)

in case you guys didnt get the email.
Hello All
Thank you for signing up for the first C7performance Spring Tour, as you know the Spring tour is tomorrow. Everyone should meet at the North East Corner of the AMC Oakville lot (this is the lot closest to Winston Churchill, close to Homewood Suites) at 9am. The first group of cars is scheduled to leave at 10am so please be prompt.
A first for this year for the technically savvy is we've made the route available via google maps. If you type http://tiny.cc/c7springtour into a web browser it will load the google map with all the directions on the route, the route is still available via the normal adobe file at http://springtour.c7performance.com/2010Route.pdf. As always please bring your waiver which you can find at http://springtour.c7performance.com/waiver.pdf , otherwise you won't get a card to get the special pricing for the Toronto Motorsports Park (some extra waivers and maps will be on site but it will be limited so please print your own if possible).
Things to remember for the day of the event
1. We will obviously be on public roads, always obey any laws of the roads and be courteous to any drivers as you are responsible for your own driving.
2. You can bring your FRS' and hands free devices to talk to your groups.
3. Try to show up with a full tank of gas so you don't have to stop mid tour and break up the groups (the route is about 110km one way).
4. There has been some confusion around if there is a fee to get into TMP (Toronto Motorsports Park) if you're just spectating, unfortunately due to some impressions we were told there was no fee however TMP has since stated there is a fee of $10 per person for spectators.
Take care,
EMT of C7 Performance

1/4 mile was cancelled because of the rain :( and it seemed very unorganized. People were not following the lapping rules, ie. passing 3 cars wide on straightaways and such. Lots of ppl turned away because 1/4 mile was cancelled. I stayed because I wanted to watch. The only other TM3 member I recognized was Mazdakitten I believe...? Correct me if I'm wrong. She had her stock wheels on so I wasn't completely sure if it was her. lol, I thought it was funny that the only 2 ppl brave enough to come out even in the rain were 2 GIRLS from the forum!!!

lol there were a few of us..... no worries mazdaskit.... we were running behind for the premeet so just decided to head out to the AMC we were trying to follow you guys out.... but you guys were to fast ended up following some subies... my car was there but parked behind the grand stand with the white STI and the black RSX didnt see you guys sitting over by the road course till later on when you guys arrived.. there were a few of us there but not quite the turnout we had in the fall.... having the 1/4 mile closed discouraged alot of people... just glad we decided to stay..... too bad we didnt stay long enough to see the GT3 wreck
But I do agree this C7 meet seemed very very unorganized/rushed in comparison to the fall tour.... as for the drive itself it was really nice some great scenery.. but way too much driving on residential streets and some of the directions were not very clear at all...... there was one turn it was a 75 degree bend... at a stop sign to turn left almost got wiped out there..... highlight of the day lol was watching my friend getting pulled over after the Halton police tailed us for 15 mins... he pulled her over for "no reason" just wanted to know where we were going lol.... man was she mad!! hahahaha

I had to bail because of quite a few reasons. For starters, didn't want to pay $20 (on credit card to someone i dont even trust) to go on the track on a rainy day. Also was up until 3am that morning hanging out with friends after an epic hockey game :)
to be honest, didnt want to spend 3 hours or more cleaning the car just to drive in rain, but hopefully next year will be better and looking forward to the fall tour for sure! To all that did go out, congrats, you are true troopers and were the first to ever go on a C7 spring tour! plenty more to come in the future im sure!
