It went smooth as icing on a cake.
Out with the old 8 cubic feet of useless plastic:

Ya, I know the pic is crappy, but I wasn't going to waste more digital space on crap.
... and in with the new:

Super easy install, except for the fact that I had to remove the inner wheel well liner and skirt to engage and slay the plastic octopus residing in the front left nose of my car. I entered the dark cave to the cheers of encouragement from my squire Sonny, who gasped in awe as I dismembered the beast piece by piece with my assortment of chromed weapons and ejected the appendages one by one from the black hole of despair. His jaw dropped in amazement at the number of arms this evil entity possessed. But let fear bother yee no more, as Sir Mazdilla emerged from the dark void having conquered the forces of evil once more! Let the trumpets sound and the angels rejoice! The brave warrior declined a parade in his honour through the town square, as he chose to ride his steed in a spirited gallop through the countryside. However, friends and family of the brave knight still celebrated the momentous occasion over a feast of malt, ground bovine grilled on an open flame, fresh breads, and fine cheeses.
(I could have let it live there, but I'm anal when it comes to an install.)
While I was in there I also replaced the horn with an OEM 2004 MZ6 dual horn assembly ($40 at Mazda). Cheaper than a Hella and just as freakin' loud - just ask my Westie boy, who's still really pissed at me, and his associate Chippy the Chipmunk, who bolted in a cloud of peanuts and seeds, and has yet to be located.
But I digress, back to the Simota CBII - 651
Plug and Play.
Looks awesome and really cleans up a lot of clutter in that corner of the engine bay.
It really sounds great, emitting a low throaty growl under spirited acceleration.
It didn't take long for the ECU to adjust, a couple of burps at initial start up.
No bogging whatsoever.
I can feel a difference in acceleration.
NO, NONE, NADA, NIL, ZILCH, NEIN, ARIEN, NONNE, NYET in the way of CEL's.
Zoom - grrrrrrrrrrrrr - Zoom!
Purrrrrrrrfect!
Another great buy at NextMod !!
:huge smile
